We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

The space shuttle Discovery was backed out of orbit and is heading for Edwards AFB in California.

The New York Times has questioned the legality of Judge Roberts' adoptions.

Great Britain is considering implementing secret courts that will determine how long those who stand before them accused of terrorism will be detained.

Harry Belafonte said that black members of the Bush Administration were "black tyrants".

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

This morning Melanie Morgan (KSFO SF radio) had an e-mail from someone who was at the same meeting with the President as Cindy Sheehan. Here is what was said:

"I have an e-mail from Jim Krause, whose brother Elmer was killed in Iraq at the same time as Casey Sheehan. Cindy Sheehan was with Mr. Krause at Fort Lewis, Washington when President Bush joined them in the chapel." Then she read the e-mail:

"Mel, let me tell you his guard was down. He was real. He was genuine. He was sincere. His eyes teared while we told of our loss. He said he was sorry. During that time we all could have blasted out our anger, criticism and contept. He would have stood there and taken it.

..we all share in the loss of loved ones. I don't begin to know a mother's pain and God forbid, the pain of the loss of an only child. I have only one. I only know if she doesn't get past her anger, she will die a bitter woman. Cindy calls for the President to bring the troops home to honor her son. I say "Mr. President, honor my brother's remains

and his 10-year old son whom he dearly loved by STAYING THE COURSE."

I think Mr. Krause's e-mail gives us some insight into what actually happened at Ft. Lewis when Cindy Sheehan met with the President!

Oh, thank you! I am going to reference this post to one of these threads, because I was hoping she didn't meet the President alone! Now there is a witness, to demonstrate what a liar she is!!

I had an appointment early this morning with a Neurologist who did a bunch of tests on both my right and left hands, wrists and forearms.

He connected some electrodes to them and ran an electrical current thru them. Also stuck a needle deep into the muscles of my forearm and put the same electrickal shock thru it. When the electricity came on some lines showed up on a monitor screen.

The right side is quite severe and he verified what I already knew.... I need the surgery. (no date set, yet). The left side is not so severe and doesn't need to be done at this time.

The Neuro was to send the test results to my Ortho, who in turn will have the nurse call to schedule the surgery. I was gone the rest of the day, but there was no message from their office when I returned this evening. I will call tomorrow afternoon to push them along, if I don't hear from them by Noon.

I read an exchange between Howlin and MO1 on another thread in which they mentioned that Cindy Sheehan's husband has left her. Do you know anything about this? It would be interesting to know when he left.

ON one of those threads (and I can't remember which one) someone posted an excerpt from an interview in which she herself says that her husband has left her because he doesn't agree with her actions. So, he left her when she started this stupid bus tour and camp out.

I also discovered that she has long been involved in leftist stuff (including a friendship with Lynn Stewart), that a distant cousin called into a west coast radio station and said that she was controlling and Casey joined to escape her, and that she and her husband have tax liens going back to the late 90's.

Quite a piece of work she is.

I heard her....said she'd be there until she meets w/President Bush OR when he leaves....will be there for a month.

Is she sleeping in a camper, a tent, a motel room or what? Does she go to the cafe in the town for food? How does she get clean clothes? What does she do during the day besides give interviews?

Oh ho! THAT explains a lot. More than once have I seen (and a few times been a victim) of misdirected anger. She can't express her anger and get her need for sympathy sufficiently filled through her husband and so she aims for a target which will garner her the response she wants. If she hadn't lost her son, then there would have been something else which would have been her target.

In short, she gone crackers.

I had that test done on my neck...it's not pleasant. It will be better after the surgery, IG, and that's the important thing.

MORE thunderstorms here so I'm turning off the computer in a second. Good night.

Good luck on the Yankees tickets. I love to go to live baseball games, the atmosphere is so much different than just watching on TV.

As far as the dining situation at your house, I'm a little more vindictive. I'd make a big pot of stew or chili or spaghetti. And that would be dinner each night until gone.

And on a final note, you can come be my cook anytime. Steak? ribs? Shrimp? Bring it on. I had dinner with neighbors this evening. I took dessert. She made salmon on the grill, corn-on-the-cob with flavored butters, cold grilled vegetables (zucchini, yellow squash, eggplants, onions, tomatoes, etc.) I brought berry shortcake. We sat on their patio and grilled and ate and visited. Such a nice summer menu and a nice summer night.

(snip)

DS: Have you lost any friends or family over this? OR, how do your husband and neighbors feel about your sudden rise to prominence in the media and the role you've accepted in those venues?

CS: I have lost almost every friend that I had before Casey died. My husband and I are separated, because he doesn't support my activities, although he knows the war is a lie.

I forgot the tomato salad Beth made for dinner this evening. All sorts of tomatoes, sliced or halved and heaped on a platter. Balsamic vinegar and a good extra virgin olive oil on the side, along with salt and ground pepper. I love tomatoes just by themselves this time of year. So much flavor. And tiny little cucumbers.

This weekend we are having a cousins' camp for all my nieces and nephews under the age of 12 (that's 15 kids all told. Whew.) I am teaching the girls how to bead and we will make bracelets, anklets, necklaces, whatever. I'm also responsible for a meal, so we're having grilled hamburgers with all the traditional accompaniments. My parents are in charge of the treats and the movies. My dad will teach the boys how to build swings (they want to make a couple of zip lines through the meadow below the cabin.)

I'm not staying the whole weekend, I have a beading/counted cross stitch retreat in Park City starting Friday at 4 and ending sometime on Sunday. I actually don't know the schedule or even where we're staying. They keep losing my address, so I need to stop by the shoppe tomorrow and get some information. All I know is I'll be in a hotel in Park city with friends. :)

I think you are on to something regarding misplaced anger.

The situation here at home sometimes has me momentarily verbally lash out at innocent members of the family.

My dogs and cats still love me. ;-)
