Did anyone see the interview on Fox News?
Posted on 09/03/2005 3:18:10 PM PDT by Jeff Chandler
I just saw a white guy on Fox charge that white people in surrounding counties are being ignored. Any comments?

My concern is that everyone (white and black) who are hit by the hurricane but are not in New Orleans are being shortchanged in the rescue and recovery effort because of all the media focus on NO.

I saw the same white guy. Apparently some white folk are being ignored in the suburbs. People dead on their roofs. For some reason, "Dust In The Wind" by Kansas has been running through my head all day.

That can't be-- everyone knows all white people are rich and can take care of themselves.

I saw that. He sounded like he was sick of the race card being played. People are dying everywhere, not just in NO.

Did you see the nervous look on the reporters' faces?
I think that people are allowing their distress to get the better of them. Not everyone is going to be rescued at once. The magnitude of the disaster is so much larger than anything before it.

The most memorable Fox folks on the ground are the Drama Queen boys, Shep Smith and Jerry Rivers. I like them, but they are so hammy it's amazing!

Obviously the other Parishes are receiving emergency attention, but not from media, 'cause that ain't where the TV trucks can get to. Anyone got a link to the story about the nursing home with 80 dead?
To: AzSteven
Unfortunately for so many people in the NO suburbs, they are not under 5 to 25 feet of water.
At the moment the search and rescue efforts are focused on those trapped by the flood.
Still, if you don't have any utilities, nothing to eat, no water, and still you are on dry land, walk WEST ~ there's less damage that direction.

No, that man said those people
are stuck on their roofs and
are starting to die.
Their homes are flooded or
they wouldn't be on the
roofs!

Yeah, but no where else do the rescue workers have to be stopped for fear of being shot.
