The GOP has led the Civil Rights charge since Lincoln but it was important that Bush recognize that Past Discrimination is the cause of African American Poverty.

I respect GW; he's a good man, and a good-hearted man.

His stance that somehow, some way those people in N.O. didn't get out was rooted in institutional racism was utter and complete bovine feces.

Black culture in this country has been well and thoroughly destroyed by Great Society programs designed by idiotic "do gooders" with NO understanding of human nature or black culture (previously rooted firmly in the church)....as well as a mass media/entertainment complex that caters to their lowest common denominators.

You see so many blacks affected by this because they expected the Government (local, State, Federal....take your pick) to take care of them. They've been programmed that way; personal responsibility no longer enters into the equation.

I DO like our President, but I found his remarks to be pandering and completely out of touch with reality.
