Congrats Sox.

Here's hoping the 1959 sequence repeats itself.

Someone please ping me to tomorrow's game?

Congratulations White Sox fans. Today just wasn't our day I guess.

Cotts and Jenks REALLY did the job!

well I had it all ready to go no matter what the score would be...had it been Astros ahead I would have done the same.
Jenks didn't take long...and I thought Lidge was lights out.
Most of his pitches were not 99 but 100 mph!

better luck tomorrow with Pettite--vs. Buehrle

Hey, I called Jenks "the fat boy" out of *affection* not disparagement! I'm pulling for the Sox not the Astros!

Congrats Sox fans. You've got to have clutch hitting to win and tonight the 'Stros didn't.

I liked the way Steve Buckley started his column in the Herald today.

"CHICAGO - What you're about to read is not directed at pathetic Red Sox fans who went into hiding the very moment the 2004 World Series champs went belly-up in the first round of this year's postseason tournament.

In other words, if you tuned out baseball after the White Sox tuned out the Red Sox, this is not for you."

Actually laughed out loud while riding the T when I read that. He does know his Red Sox fans.

My nap lasted too long and I only woke up in the 5th. Was pissed at first 'cause I missed Clemens, but I guess it was no big thing since he got pulled after the 2nd with the hammy.

Oh well, us old guys can understand our minds making promises our bodies can't keep.

Go Sox, I wonder if Shoeless Joe is watching?

"In other words, if you tuned out baseball after the White Sox tuned out the Red Sox, this is not for you."

Exactly--as I said earlier, I'm a Red Sox fan AND a baseball fan and I never miss the playoffs. I saw that article, too.

I will but have never pinged someone--not sure how that's done. have been pingeE, but never the pingeR! Best bet is to check General Chat around 7:30 or so and I'll try to have the thread up then. I can't do this with games 3 or 4 as I work
those nights (at a job w/ no computer) but if there's a game 5, 6, or 7 I'll be around.

Is that Chuck Norris at the plate?

Naah, Chuck Norris is on the Texas Rangers, remember?

When I left the city, I was living on Argyle at Laramie.

I went to high school about a mile from there--Luther North, near Montrose & Central.

My three stars of the game: CREDE, Jenks, and Cotts. (Dye and Contreras did well, too.)

Crede did it with the bat and the glove. And Cotts's big relief outs were followed by the serious heat of Jenks:
