Amazing song. Skid Row's second album, Slave to the Grind was far superior to their debut and is in my opinion one of the BEST hair-metal albums of all time...and even stands up well against "real" metal like Pantera and such. They opened for Pantera in '91 in fact and they were NOT one-upped by Pantera at all. They knew how to rock, until Sebastian Bach had to start acting like a d*ck...

14 House of Pain | Faster Pussycat
15 Miles Away | Winger

Couple of good tunes. Say what ya like about Winger, but they had some good stuff, and well, I'm not saying that because I know Kip Winger personally (he was born in Bozeman, Montana). :)

Well, my 80's hair is visible on my profile page - but I was a Metallica/Slayer/Exodus/Megadeth guy back then, and so would have spat on most of these hair bands with their leopard-skin pants and their wuss music...LOL! I did like George Lynch, Reb Beach, and Warren DeMartini though - guitarists who were way, way, way too good for the bands they were in. ;)

Every time I hear that song I sing "broken arms". And I smile every time. :)

Don's a good singer, but his talent as a singer is not as abundant as George's talent as a guitarist. Don's got the typical "lead singer" disease that makes the lead singer turn into an a$$hole.

I think they are thinking that power ballads mean heavy metal/hard rock bands taking a stab at slow, dirge like love songs.

Oh,

Yeah, I think you're right.

I was listening to The Ramones in the 80's anyway.

I saw KISS down in Huntsville, AL in the late 80s with Winger and Slaughter. My ears were ringing for a week. ; )

That's what I said!

That's another hidden gem...it's a great song that was a hit in it's day (I think it was top ten) but never gets played much anymore.

I am guessing sweetie most of us on this thread are between

30-40?

I can't help it...I grew up saving every dollar I made for a concert to these bands and a T-shirt

"Two out of Three Ain't Bad" by Mr. Loaf should be on this list.
