I'm not a fan of the "power ballad" (to put it mildly), but if I had to pick one it'd be "Love to Love" by UFO (the live version on the 1979 album Strangers in the Night).

....I'll also include a few Mott the Hoople tunes, although their "power ballad" status is certainly debatable.
"The Ballad of Mott the Hoople" and "Hymn for the Dudes" on the album Mott and "Half Moon Bay" on their first release. Incredible tunes that shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath with any of VH1's selections.
