I'll go first. I've been doing Weight Watchers for about 6 months and have lost about 35 pounds. Not record time, I know, but I'm making real lasting changes in my eating habits. WW really emphasizes portion control. It's the most "doable" diet I've ever done. I still get to eat what I want, just smaller portions. I'm getting over a raging cold so I wasn't able to go weigh in this week and see if I lost anything. I'm dying to see if I got below the 35 pound mark.

I generally loathe exercise, but know it's good for me. So, I do Walk Away The Pounds 2 mile and WATPs Walk, Punch and Kick when I the mood strikes. When the weather is nice mr. rk and I like to hike around different parks in the area. We have some great recreation areas near here.

Anyone else interested?

I went back to work and use Slimfast to replace the meals I miss. I've lost 25 lbs in 9 months and now need to spot tone the belly muscles!

Please add me!

I lost 25 pounds last year without a real program. Need to lose MUCH more!

BTW - I just started The Biggest Loser DVD. For anyone that likes the tapes/DVDs, etc. this one is pretty funny. Has all the contestants and half the time they're out of step, the other half they're bitching to the trainers. Pretty much what I do while I'm doing it.

Well I was on this dumb diet for a while with my mom. She almost died from what the Doctors say is the "right" diet. she got so sick because that diet wasn't made for her body. At first we only lost like 4lbs than we started gaining. You can put me on the list too. ;)

Good for you! Why not have a thread for this? It may very well help some of us to get or stay in shape.

I love the idea. I need to lose weight and I'm getting depressed. I have fibromyalgia so sometimes its difficult to get moving. I walk every day for 20 minutes but I like candy too much. I need encouragement.

Count me in...

On 12/27, I weighed ~225 pounds and am 6' tall. I did not look fat, but I felt fat. I gained that weight after I got married - regular meals and all.

Since then, I've lost 14 pounds (weighed myself last on 02/28). My short-term goal is ~205 by 03/21 = my next doctor's appointment. Long term, I want to get down to 190-195.

The main thing has been stop the snacking, eat small meals during the day and what I do eat is sensible portions. I've done very little exercise, but the weather is supposed to break this week, so I'll start walking, then running again.

As Freepers we spend a whole bunch of time in front of our computers and more then a few of us could do with some exercise and probably a little weight loss.

I'm in!! Put me on whatever ping list. I know what I need to do, I just have to get up off my big fanny and DO IT! I'm on FR all day from time to time, so knowing I can chat with folks and be accountable to someone else who is doing the same thing will be nice. I've got over 100 pounds to lose, and I'm sliding into the change of life, so I'm expecting it will take me at least a couple of years to lose it.

Can we do a 'weigh-in day' once a week, and, if we want, we can say how much we've lost? That will help us encourage each other.

BTW, I love WATP! I got some of the weighted balls, though mine are 2lbs each. It is a good workout; even the one mile walk!

Good job on the weight loss. I'd be happy to participate. I started on Jan 2, and have lost 34 lbs so far. I am doing Weight Watchers Online and also recording my weight with a few other family members on a website. I walk 53 minutes a day on a treadmill. I feel so much better.

Good luck to all.

Thank you for your interesting request. I was thinking about what to give up for Lent and finally made the decision to give up carbs which I thought was going to be the heardest sacrifice I have ever done during Lent. Well I can tell you that since Ash Wednesday my stomach has gone down a lot. I am in the Navy so I was never "out of the Navy's regs", but those rediculous new government regs that they changed for some reason a couple years ago has my BMI pretty high. Anyway, I was 180 and now about 170. Now I understand that is not a lot of weight, but the overall feel of my body I can tell and when I look in the mirror I can tell also. Oh I am on 5'8.
