I'll go first. I've been doing Weight Watchers for about 6 months and have lost about 35 pounds. Not record time, I know, but I'm making real lasting changes in my eating habits. WW really emphasizes portion control. It's the most "doable" diet I've ever done. I still get to eat what I want, just smaller portions. I'm getting over a raging cold so I wasn't able to go weigh in this week and see if I lost anything. I'm dying to see if I got below the 35 pound mark.

I generally loathe exercise, but know it's good for me. So, I do Walk Away The Pounds 2 mile and WATPs Walk, Punch and Kick when I the mood strikes. When the weather is nice mr. rk and I like to hike around different parks in the area. We have some great recreation areas near here.

Anyone else interested?

A few of us were thinking of starting an on-going FReeper diet and fitness thread. It would be a place where we could discuss weight loss, diet, exercise, getting back in shape, encourage each other in our efforts to get healthy, and celebrate our successes.

Anyone else interested?

YES! Is there going to be a PING list?

I've just started reading Drs. Michael DeBakey's & Antonio Gotto's book "The Living Heart" for inspiration.

Need to turn inspiration into action and would love any support. I'd also be happy to share what I learn with others who are like-minded about health issues!

I'm interested - add me!

I'm not overweight, but I'd still like to lose 15 pounds. You know how female vanity is.

A few of us were thinking of starting an on-going FReeper diet and fitness thread.

Eat right--exercise more.

Because billions of dollars are spent on diets, books, tapes etc. by fat people, it only proves that the the average American is not very bright. Instead of hundreds of thousands of potential words on a thread re being fat, all you need is FOUR WORDS:

Eat right--exercise more.

Anybody who needs more than just these four words has mental problems, besides being fat. I know this is not politically correct, but it is just the plain truth. This is scientific fact.

I "talked" with you in August when I began WW. I had lost 20 lbs. by Thanksgiving, but didn't stick with it completely. I'm just maintaining the 20 lb. loss, but need to lose another 40. I stopped drinking carbonated drinks and I'm really watching my portions. I want to tackle those remaining 40 lbs. Please add me to your list. I could use the encouragement. Thanks for starting this thread!

Great idea!
Add me to the list!

In August of 2002, I started the Atkins diet. Eight months later I went from 427# to 301# (a loss of 126#). I lost all that without exercise. I can't do much thanks to arthritis.
Sadly, I've slowly gained most of it back. The diet started to get really boring and really expensive.
I think I could do it again and get to where I wanna be (210#), if I had others to whom I needed to answer. My wife ain't much help 'cause she loves me no matter how I look. I just want to lose it because I realized I've never seen any morbidly obese senior citizens...

Hi retrokitten. I'd like to be on the list.

I have about 10 pounds to lose - the same ones I've been fighting for 10 years. I work from home and absolutely have to find the time to get some exercise. Not just for weight control, but for the horrific cholesterol problem I have.

Congrats on the Weight Watchers program and losing 35 pounds! That is wonderful!

I am. I did bikram yoga for a month and lost a lot of weight. My intro membership is done. Now I'm going back to the gym to get rid of the chicken wing arms I have. I was 175 pounds last year and now I'm 147 :O)

Please add me to your ping list. I am on Weight Watchers, also. Actually, I am a lifetime member, who gained about 20 pounds that I've been trying to lose for the last month. Good luck to you.

Oh yeah I forgot to add that my current food plans include lots of vegetable juicing, unprocessed foods and herbal teas.

I'm interested. I have severe arthritis of the spine. I don't know what excercises to do. It's hard to walk, but I love walking. Winter has kept me in the house, and finances keep me from getting a treadmill.
