Even school teachers make mistakes when they've been up all night...or maybe just us bad ones do.

I'm sure all you civilians who are so quick to criticize us when me we make even the least mistake have absolutely nothing to do with the fact that good teachers are leaving the field in droves.

Maybe you should consider going into teaching. Heck, I'll even give you my job, and you can sit around all day wondering when one of your Gothic kids is going to come to class stoned and blow your brains out...but it won't matter as long as you spell everything perfectly and make certain that your grammar is correct...and besides, why worry? You'll be making almost 25K a year. You'll be making enough money to hire someone to do your spelling for you.

P.S. I am a computer Science teacher. Grammar aint my thing, but I will remember you and people like you when I walk out the door and leave my room to some liberal idiot.

Many of us admire & respect teachers! The kids need you, don't give up. Without teachers there would be no Doctors, or most any profession. Someday they will come back and thank you. I thank you, right now!

I'm sorry that I so greatly offended you. Please refer to my post 18. But the vibes that I get from reading this reply are that you are a very angry, pent-up person that has problems with your career situation. I am no counselor, but I sense that maybe you should speak to one. Honestly, I mean no offense either in this or the previous post.

of course you like to quote 25k per year, because you must be one of the VERY RARE teachers.
The AVERAGE teacher earns 46K. Not fantastic pay but not 26k per year either. And there are certainly some great benefits.
The most recent American Federation
of Teachers salary survey found that
the average teacher salary in the
2003-04 school year was $46,597.
25k is only for the first 3 years of a teacher's work in a substandard school district.
I suggest you move to a new school district.
unless perhaps you were quoting incorrect or
misleading information from your union. Perhaps you should update them on the correct amounts.
