Sometimes, they are so vocal that it's annoying to others — annoyance which these others will turn into contempt for the products themselves, because they believe that the products are to blame for these enthusiastic people that are bothering them with endless promotion and zealous advocating.

Bingo - haven't noticed it in real life, but some of the Mac advocates at this site come across as being more unstable than Windows ME.

LOL! just look at the numerous Apple/mac/ipod threads on FR over the past few weeks! Sheesh! FreeRepublic has become a frickin mac commercial!
