Well, as I said: There is absolutely NO other way England can win the cup. However so far England has been incredibly lucky and everything has gone exactly their way (I mean: Could there have been a better result of the Holland-Portugal battle for England? Can one be more lucky?).

Well, Klinsmann played for Orange County Blue Star as late as 2003, ;-)

Yes, there could have been a better outcome. We could have played Holland - who have no midfield and no cohesion whatsover. To say there is no way England can win the World Cup, demonstrates a lack of understanding of football. I imagine you are American.

>>Missed your post earlier, sorry, betis.
Do you have any favorites left?

No. :(

I am tempted to root for England, but I'm afraid I'll jinx them. Guess I'll root for the tango commies, that way if they lose I won't feel very bad.

Obviously, I will be rooting for England, who have their best chance to win the World Cup since 1970.

(We also had a good chance in 1990 but that was with an even crappier team than the current one.)

My second choice would be France as I have money on them so won't feel quite as bad if they knock us out in the semis.

Great match. And the ref isn't the game for a change.

Agreed.

So far I've rooted for the Czechs, U.S., T and T, Korea, Australia, and Germany. Those are the only ones I really wanted to do well (the other matches I usually just hated one team or didn't care). I've had mixed results. 8 wins, 4 ties, 9 losses. I really enjoyed Argentina's games and really didn't like England's games. Go Germany!

Yes, I had three folks from out of town tonight and we were going to see the Yankee game.

I had on a soccer jersey and all night people were coming up to me to ask about it and talk about the World Cup.

Best line all night in the men's room from one guy: "I went to the Olympics and it's nothing. I should have gone to the World Cup."

Well yeah bro, what can I tell you. Then another guy. "1998 France" Yeah I was there for the final. "Really."

Yeah, it was the biggest party since the end of WWII. Here's the scar on my leg from climbing the Bastille. The last time you could climb the Bastille and not get arrested.

Oh, the memories. !!!!!!!!

I'm picking Germany-Portugal in the finals, with Germany winning 2-0.
