Eagles up and prayers for a quick and full recovery for Col. Jeff Cooper, long-time master of both rifle and sidearm, soldier, historian and a true-blue, red-blloded all American patriot.

The man is in his 90's. I'll pray for God's will to be done. There may be pain issues and other travails of age.

But the man is an icon of American pistolcraft. It's up to us to pass his legacy along to others and to the young people. He's an original rugged individualist. A man's man. Definitely not PC! Said what he meant...and meant what he said.

The news I am seeing is not good. From the other forum:
Latest update at 5:40AM is there is nothing else that can be done. The Colonel has left
instructions not to resuscitate and has asked to be returned home to the ranch to die.

It appears to be only a matter of time now.

And this:

I received the following from Col. Cooper's daughter Lindy today:

"The latest is not good.

It has been determined that Dad is not strong enough to undergo the kyphoplasty
procedure. His lungs and heart are starting to fail.

He will be coming home from the hospital either today or tomorrow and Mom will have
hospice care in the home. I will be driving up tomorrow to do what I can to help.

Thanks for your interest.
Lindy"

Again, I am just passing on info I have seen on the other forum. I really wish it was better news.

This doesn't sound so good. Prayers up.

BTW, Jeff Quinn of http://www.gunblast.com is recuperating from an unsuspected heart attack.

With a legacy such as his will he ever truly be gone? I think not.
In the end all I can pray is that the Lord's will be done.
If it's his time to part from this world then there isn't much anyone can do except keep what he taught alive. To me that is the most fitting tribute.

My best wishes to The Col. and family. I always went to Coopers Corner first.
