Just one question... (Vanity)

Watching in stunned amazement from the other side of the Pacific, trying to take in the electoral devastation meted out to the GOP, I have only one question (and my inquiry is genuine): How the hell was this allowed to happen?

After watching explosions on our televisions for 3 years, the American public thought they could "Wah, Wah, make it stop,

Oh, with a "cut and run" Dhimi-controlled Congress, it may well (nay, will probably) stop--over there.

But that only means that it will start up "Over Here."

When the explosions start going off in everyone's back yards' wonder what the reaction will be????

A failure in our twelve years in the House to really lead. We let spending get even more out of control under our watch for instance. And we couldn't get much done the last few years despite holding all the levers. Equally importantly we really ran a poor campaign. In previous elections we've had a unified message. We didn't this time and not only that a lot of our candidates sniped at each other instead of concentrating fire on the Dems.

Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner.

The fact of the matter is that the GOP has gotten out of sync. This has been one of the weakest campaign cycles I've ever seen come out of the Republican Party in many years; it's like they weren't even trying. Did Iraq play a part? Possibly. Was it all an MSM conspiracy as too many people here claim? Please spare me.

Hopefully the GOP can retain the Senate (although even that is looking a bit bleak) and this "Speaker Pelosi" shock will set the party back on track for 2008.

Look at it this way. Now they democrats have enough rope to hang themselves. It was easy for them to sit around and whine but now they have to perform.

I think the first thing they'll find is trouble with their own voters. They won't be able to give the far left much of anything and the more moderate democrats are going to be at odds with the moonbat leadership.

Actually It should be fun to watch.

This could have ALL been prevented, with a simple fence.

Ouch. That's gonna leave a mark. How much must it suck for a defeated congressman to be sitting in his hotel room this morning, staring at the mirror, and thinking, "One fence. One stupid fence, and I'd still have my job"

The GoP leadership was kinder and friendlier. No cajones. They simply let 'em get cut off mate.

How did it happen? It happened because the American voters are the same disloyal, feckless, spiteful, and ungrateful people who sent me to Vietnam, and then threw Baggies full of feces at me when I came home.

Did not lead.

Played too nice with Dems.

Abandoned what got the Repubs Congress in the first place.

More Homeland Security powers and fewer civil liberties. It'll be...um, ironic to say the least.

Go to http://www.mullings.com and read what Rich Galen has to say.

While I don't totally agree with his analysis - it is a stinging rebuke of the repubs - by repubs (who stayed home). Here in San Diego County (which is repub by more than 100,000 registered voters) - late yesterday afternoon they reported that over 2/3 of the absentee ballots had not been received. That was stunning to me - because that is mostly the repub base in the county.

I'm so upset over this defeat that I'm actually physically sick.

Well .. aside from listening to Rush, I probably won't be watching the news programs - I'm already sick of the whole mess.

If the dems get the senate too - our troops are in deep trouble - and we can expect Articles of Impeachment to appear any day soon.

How the hell was this allowed to happen?

The Drive-By Media still has influence enough to move voters. Until their microphones are disconnected and printing presses stilled, they will be a factor. It's no more complicated than that.

The good news is they are dying fast. Within a few years, network news will cease to exist. Several large Metro newspapers will go away. As the eyeballs migrate to the internet, the advertisers will follow. With no advertisers, the Dinosaurs will starve.

My suggestion is that every Freeper who still subscribes to a newspaper call and cancel TODAY. Stop watching network news. It may take a bit, but they will die...

The loss of Talent, Steele and Santorum to ignorant boobs is particularly hard to understand.

It is easy to understand, boobs voted for them.

I believe everyone should be required to submit in writting the reason for their votes. (j/k)

The main problem with our democratic republic is that there is no IQ test required to vote. (not joking)

Only 2 yrs. and we can clean the house up.

IF we have a "HOUSE" to clean up

I admire your's (and others') optimism.

Me, I fear greatly what will happen to this great Country of ours in the next 2 years.

Chicken Little? Mayhaps and I hope I'm wrong in my prognostication, but I guess only time will tell.

Hey Aussie, I admire your PM and his brutal honesty with how he perceives our Islamic enemy. His eyes are not blinded.

As for us here in America...Yesterday we found out America has lost her will and resolve to militarily confront terrorism. It seems most Americans are clueless as it comes to what are enemy is, what it presents, and its strategy to attack. The history of our enemy is lost on many.

America is now no better then our Western European counter parts who's liberal, socialistic dogma of burying one's head in the sand in hope things will just go away and that if we play nice the enemy will play nice is a sound just philosophy.......philosophy which will eventually come back to bite us on our ignorant a$$.

Sadly, the America many Aussies admire and look up to has taken a nap, perhaps a permanent slumber.

George Allen's little gaffe no doubt cost him the votes he needed to win.

Stupid.

Mark Foley's big screw up cost us in Florida.

Worse than stupid.

Among the individuals who were nailed for corruption, deviancy, and just not being able to keep their mouths shut, we had enough votes to hang on.

Among the voters who thought they would teach their own party a lesson, we had enough votes to hang on.

This was the jet that crashed before takeoff.

Actually .. the enemy who wants to kill us will believe we ARE WEAK AND THEY CAN ATTACK US HERE AT HOME.

I HOPE EVERYBODY'S READY! And .. for all those repubs who didn't vote - I hope they enjoy the slaughter.

Remember, if the dems get the senate too - they will kill the Patriot Act - and stop the NSA program - and we're going to be in a hell of a lot of trouble.

Much of it was about immigration (labor thing) and some about other non-defense issues. Most people here are unaware of the impressions and ideas that terrorist regimes and organizations will gather from the election results.

The GOP base did not show up, Republicans got drunk with power, federal spending was out of control....but let not your heart be troubled...the democrat mid-election win is actually a good thing for the Republicans; not only was a message sent to the Republicans, but the democrat party now has to move left of center in which their extreme radical far left liberal base is going to scream to high heaven. The democrats are actually going to have to prove to the American people they have a plan (which they don't); and the Republican Party are very poised to win in 2008...if they actually did listen to their voters...
