AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 2117) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | The Day After... | All of Us

Posted on 11/08/2006 4:57:52 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

First--Virginia.

Sad to say, not going to get there.

With 99.75% of the precincts reporting (side note, this is supposed to be an electronic state--there are still outstanding votes?)...

Allen: -0.36%
Pricincts Out: 6
Estimated Votes Remaning: 6,000
Allen Deficit: 8,359

What is interesting is that all of the late precincts, which are predominately early voters, are breaking heavily for Webb--90% or better in most cases. With the remaining votes, if they continue to break for Webb, there won't be an automatic recount.

The big story in the state? The marriage amendment. Time and again in precinct decomposition, it could be seen that predominately black precincts were going overwhelmingly for the amendment, but the same precincts were trouncing Allen. Conclusion--black congregations turned out big time to vote for marriage. While there, heck, punch the screen for Webb. Kind of ironic--a iconic conservative issue does in the conservative.

Frankly, it's hard to say there's something up, because "early voting" areas do, in fact, correlate with blue areas. We'll see.

Now, for the rest of the story.

It is looking like the RAT party will have somewhere around 230 seats in the 110th Congress. We will have Speaker Pelosi, and chairmans of the ilk that includes Rangell, Waxman, Conyers, Dingell, and so on.

In the Senate--it's up to Virginia and Montana. If we win one of those states, the senate has 50 Republicans. If we win both, 51. Again, there's a certain sanguinity about Virginia. Montana's not that great either, though there's only about 2,000 votes separating the two, with the RAT leading, 91% in, with about 32,000 votes left to count. Obviously, if we lose both, we lose the Senate.

Some good news out of all this--many of the liberal Republicans in the Senate are gone. This will give us the opportunity to build up a solid conservative foundation on the Senate side. In the House, we've got to find Newt II, though with a bit more suave than Newt.

Moving forward, the media says the election was about Iraq, immigration, and corruption. Forget the last two. By the time folks rolled into the ballot box, the corruption surrounding, for example, Foley had faded into the past. Immigration is rather neutral, actually. It had enough proponets and detractors that it probably washed out.

Then there's Iraq. The media, naturally, says the vote was against being in Iraq.

Nope, wrong answer. The correct thing is people are wanting to GET IT DONE! They don't see progress, but then media types haven't been to good at showing progress. The prediction here is that it'll be like the homeless, not a problem now that RATS are in charge somewhere. They have a plan, after all. (By the way, when it's found, ping the assembled.)

But, as usual, the media got it half right. People, in my opinion, and based on those I have talked to, see America over-focused on Iraq. Can't say as I blame them. President Bush said there were three entities in the Axis of Evil, Iraq, Iran, and North Korea. We eliminated one, but what about the other two?

One went on and developed nuclear weapons, the other is on its way. That's scaring the bejesus out of the average American, particularly as they see the United States being relatively impotent on the matter. We keep yapping, but they keep right on with their nuclear programs. The American people, I would argue, demand action in these areas; Iraq would be much less of an issue if we could address Iran and North Korea.

The other piece of good news is we still have over 40 Senators. The RATS will now learn how hard it is to run the Senate.

Short run prediction, the White House will trot up a budget in February for fiscal year 2008 that will have bunches of goodies in it, daring the House to say "no". It is the opening shot of the 2008 campaign.

And what about the 2008 campaign? Here's the really big message from last night. It is clear that coattails are back in play. Whoever runs in 2008 will have them. We need a big time, brand name Republican to run for the White House.

At the moment, the marquis is empty. Looking for volunteers.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Not me, I'm afraid. Not at this time, anyway. I don't have the stomach for it at this point.

Also, one of my dearest friends, the woman whose house we stay in when we travel to CT, has serious bone cancer and has broken a rib as a result. She's on chemo and oxycontyn (sp?) for the pain.

I knew last week when we talked that something was wrong but she's always so upbeat and she said she was fine. Tonight I called and told her I knew she wasn't fine and she admitted she hadn't wanted to tell me because she knew I wasn't sleeping with worry for my dad and sister.

Her husband is devastated, naturally, and it broke my heart to talk with him. Today, even before I called her, I spent a long time finding just the right card to send her, and I can see I intuitively chose wisely.

I'm at the lowest point I've ever been in my life right now and just don't have it in me to really fight the good fight on the internet, but that will change over time probably.

It will be interesting to see what Michael Barone comes up with in his analysis.
He's about the only person on tv I can stand right now, and he's always worth a read.

I have had the most uneasy feeling about Frist and Hastert in MEGATONES (I just invented that word for lack of anything else), ALL ALONG. Now it is all revealing itself to me in all its putrid glory.

2/3rds , I'm trying to be both realistic, ideologically consistent and conservative, and winning all at the same time! Reagan was almost the definition of "warm and fuzzy" conservatism. Speaking for myself, that's what I'm looking for....don't know about Jane's ideas there, and she'll certainly speak for herself.

I agree the terror threat has now been ramped up with the Dems-in Denial in charge on the Hill.

We have 2 years to regroup and get it right! Not much time. Sorry I missed your post this a.m. Been trying to catch up all day with other things, and fielding some calls from my dear son and sister too.

No, Two-thirds, you stand up for your beliefs but you use some diplomacy and PR. That's all I am talking about. Here's an example:

Rush didn't stop to think about how his criticism (and let's face it, mocking) of Michael J.Fox would look to those who aren't Rush fans (and although Rush has a lot of fans, there are a lot more people who aren't).

It would have been better if he had said how he felt Fox had been fed a bill of goods by the proponents of that cloning bill, and how awful it was for them to take advantage of someone with a serious illness. (And that would have been close to the truth, since Fox admitted he had never read the entire amendment). The attack would have been on those who were USING Fox, and I think it would have gotten a receptive audience from many. Instead, his attack on Fox simply aggravated a whole bunch of people who don't know much about Parkinson's except that it's a horrible disease, and Rush ended up looking like a bully and all of us got tarred with that reputation.

If Rush had done what I said, people could have looked into the amendment, still felt sorry for Fox, and detested the democrats for using him.

Coulter has this partly right...the Rats get these victims so they can't be criticized. Well, I think we need to be smarter. Instead of puffing up and saying "We don't think you get a pass because you are a victim!" we need to be saying "The democrats are preying on sick people for their own political benefit."

I notice that when people found out about the relatives of dead soldiers being called by John Kerry's campaign, the public started to recoil against him...and perhaps that would have continued if we hadn't had the Fox flap.

I hope you see what I mean. I am advocating understanding how the clueless think and presenting our message in a way that is atractive to them. (Calling moderates names is also a losing strategy.)

Hi Molly! OK, I am a complete idiot regarding the 'warm and fuzzy'. I thought it meant something along the lines of
"can't we all just get along?" Please pardon my abyss of ignorance. I will not address it again because I have no idea as to what it means.

I am so sorry you have had bad news about your friend. You ertainly have a lot on your plate right now.

A few years ago I went through some difficult times...sick parents and the eventual death of my father, husband's job loss, knee surgery, etc. It can take a toll on you.

Please take care of yourself, and know that you are in our prayers.
