Election paradoxes.

TOPICS:
KEYWORDS:
Here are some paradoxes I do not understand.

1) Republicans are spending too much so vote Democrat. Robert Ehrlich with a balanced budget in MD got thrown out. Possible result is taxes and deficits is MD. I think Dems resent that the money is not spent on them.

2) Vote democrats so we can have a new direction. But we have the same leaders who have been in power many years; CLintion,Kennedy,Shumer,Kerry. I think what they mean is we need to go back to same old direction.

3) Culture of corruption. But whay to Dem leaders with scandals get voted back in?

4) We need to work together. Well we all know where that will lead.

ANy others?

Yep - a couple.

Almost every state proposal to limit or nix the Kelo decision passed.

Here in Michigan, Democrats were voted in or back in while Props 2 and 4 decisively carried - limiting the Kelo decision and putting an end to most affirmative action programs.

Sooo... we're here voting Democrat with one hand while clamping down on government power and liberal "progress" with the other. If that's not a paradox, I don't know what is... and it isn't unique to Michigan.
