WOW. I thought American Conservatives (like me) believed in FREE speech and did not "look down" on anyone just because they were new to the discussion.

Alot of newbies make the same mistake, and we go over the difference between FREE speech, and what goes on in a privately owned and operated forum, such as this.

Having said that, I assumed you were, in general, just looking for a good chat about cars, so I segued clumsily into car talk and spent most of the message talking about cars.

My experience with Mustang owners was perhaps not "the average" owner, since this was a large group of knowledgable folks in a car club. Sports Coupe was all we called it (I am a former Mustang owner, but haven't owned one in for about 15 years).

And my wife, God bless her (I can say that here can't I?), bought me my Corvette

Now I REALLY HATE YOU! :)

Other than parhaps a Cadillac here or there, I consider the Vette to be GM's greatest car.

After my Mustang ownership, I drifted off into the Jap supercar thing (Turbo Supra, 300ZX TT, Mitsu 3000GT) for a while.. now, all I got is a Minivan!

Thanks. BTW -- EVERYONE -- I'm a little disappointed that no MOPAR guys* jumped in to spice things up. C'mon people, we were talking 60's horsepower here. Where are you Road Runner and GTX fans? You Barracuda/Challenger guys? Charger/Coronet devotees? Am I the only one old enough to remember the Daytona and SuperBird?

* NOTE: "Guys" in this context is intended as a non gender-specific term.

Understood. (Although some of us might view that "Jap" comment as a bit offensive, no?)

Anyway, my sympathies on the minivan.

Ditto. I feel your pain.

There was never a finer day than trading in the minivan and putting that regrettable, though necessary, motoring phase behind me!

I shamefully admit trying to make it 'cool' too by dressing it up with wheels and tires...but you just can't polish a turd!
