Superbowl COMMERCIALS Thread (Discuss Superbowl Commercials: Good, Bad, and Ugly)
Self | February 4, 2007 | PJ-Comix

Half the FUn (maybe more) of watching the Superbowl is seeing the commercials. Remember, the ad agencies try to put their most creative commercials on during the Superbowl. Therefore, the purpose of this discussion thread will be to analyze today's Superbowl commercials: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

There seems to be a concensus that the best Superbowl commercials were the 1984 Apple commercial introducing the Mac and the original Budweiser frogs commercial.

In the hours leading into tonight's Superbowl, feel free to post your fave (and most hated) Superbowl commercials. Once the game begins, let us have an analysis of this year's Superbowl commercials.

Ours has a feral aspect to him. When he was a puppy, I think he would have attacked and eaten our infant granddaughter. He growled whenever he saw children. We totally had to dominate him which we had never done with a dog. He then learned that children throw frisbies and once he made that connection, we never worried again. But once, when he was about seven months old, I took him with me in the support vehicle when my husband did Ride the Rockies, a bycicle ride. We were camping in close quarters one night when he startled, chased down a bunch of children and, being a heeler, nipped at the heals of the little girl in back. He knew as soon as he had done it that he was in trouble and slunk back to me. I chewed him out and told him to go abologize. He slunk over to the girl's mother and licked her foot. I am not making this up.

That sounds *just* like a cattle dog. This evening I was folding clothes on the couch. Our boy Jack wanted to inform me I wasn't sitting in my correct spot, that it was all wrong if I wasn't sitting on the other side of the room. So he kept nudging my knee, "C'mon, Mom, go sit in your chair." When I was all done and put the laundry away, he escorted me to my chair and then laid down at my feet. All is right with his world.

CBS Sportsline has a thing on their website where you can view all the commercials broken down by quarter.

Ah well. We have a few of your type in the family. Always a lot of fun when the in-laws start lobbing Yankee-bombs into otherwise pleasant dinner conversation.

Robert Goulet Emerald Nuts commercial is the best one so far. I laughed when seeing him crawl on the ceiling.
