I echo what Norm wrote to you Steve. Sorry I'm late, but someone cut the RR cable by accident and I've been offline.

Nothing was more fun than doing qualifying and play by play with you on the threads. Mr Statistic will always be your name.

Maybe if Lil Brian goes to Disney World for his next gig then you can come back. Wishful thinking. :)

If Nascar had any balls, they would start parking cars for a race or two.

But they don't. Nor will any France find some.

Hmmmm...no points deducted from "Cheatin' Chad's" team last year, but now we are taking points....

Ok, I get it.

I think.........

Ummm actually yes I have tried it. I raced for almost 10 years. There weren't ANY H-D's in the paddock because H-D hasn't made a competitive roadracing bike since Cal Rayborn took Daytona in 1968 and 1969.

But then, I'm guessing you knew that most Harleys are trailered or bought in Daytona! ;)

Waltrip Thinks Earnhardt Jr. Should Be Penalized, Then Talks More Sh.... Literally

Michael Waltrip had some choice words about Dale Earnhardt, Jr. on Monday's edition of Inside Nextel Cup. Waltrip stated he believed Jr. should be penalized for the bump drafting that occurred during the Bud Shootout that subsequently led to the last lap accident that swept up Elliot Sadler, Kasey Kahne, Denny Hamlin and Junior. He continued into a long rant which included a sarcastic jab about the "greatest driver ever" making a mistake. It seemed to catch the other panelists off guard. This included Mark Martin who, when asked why he didn't think Junior was penalized stated "Because the race was over."

It was an interesting perspective from Waltrip, who himself has been under strict scrunity by NASCAR this week. After inspectors found an oily substance in the intake manifold of his NAPA Toyota, they confiscated the manifold and let Waltrip qualify. After being unable to figure out initially what the substance was, NASCAR confiscated Waltrip's car. Waltrip continued on Monday with the "it was just oil" spin, but NASCAR confirmed Tuesday that while they still hadn't figured out what the substance was, it wasn't oil. It is scheduled to go through a strict inspection on Wednesday for any other areas of his car that may not be legal.

In addition to the comments about Junior and the lies about the substance in the manifold being oil, Waltrip also found a way to work into the show the fact that he was having "tummy issues" during the Bud Shootout. He then stated he was "loose" during the ten minute break and the caution was much needed for his bowels.
WHY?!!

CALL TO MICHAEL WALTRIP:
Michael, be a professional. Until you drive the Imodium AD Toyota, please avoid talking about your diarrhea on television. I really don't want to hear about your "tummy issues."

And regarding the cheating...be a man. Quit lying. You cheated. You got caught. Say you're sorry and move on.

Mikey coming unglued? Wow.

Then this from Jayski........

UPDATE 6: Sirius NASCAR Radio, Ch 128 had PRN's Mark Garrow on the Driver's Seat show this morning and reported that the team had taken a #44 Toyota is reskinning the car and putting the #32 on the car, soucres say the #55 team and Waltrip may be ejected. Waltrip bought the #32 owners points [going with the #00 team] and Cal Wells is listed as the #00 owner. AND MORE: Garrow is reporting that crew chief David Hyder is not at the track and SPEED's NASCAR Live reported that NASCAR fired up the engine and the substance reappeared, now NASCAR has put up a 50-foot perimeter to keep anyone out of the area and has pulled the engine out of the car.

UPDATE 7: the car will not be #32, but is #55 and it is a Reutimann backup. Waltrip has declined interviews, probably will not be allowed to practice in the first practice. The team is still preparing the car. Also word around the garage is Waltrip could be suspended a few races and crew chief Hyder suspended as long as the full season.(2-14-2007)

From the article in Post #605...

"Old-fashioned schoolyard justice? Maybe. We'll see. Sure, teams may rat out each other to deflect attention from their own "creativity," but they're also keeping the playing field even. "

To this article...

"It was an interesting perspective from Waltrip, who himself has been under strict scrunity by NASCAR this week. After inspectors found an oily substance in the intake manifold of his NAPA Toyota..."

When I add 2 and 2 together, I suspect NASCAR inspectors didn't so much as find an oily substance as much as they were "alerted" to an oily substance. And I suspect Michael has a good idea of just who alerted the inspectors.

The sad part in all of this is that Michael had a good thing going in a career revived by Dale, Sr. The teams managed to work well together at the restrictor plate tracks and all was going great until those darn NAPA commercials with Dale, Jr. & Michael.

I still think Dale, Jr. needs to get his head out of his butt and stay away from the Hollywood celebrity circuit if he wants to win a championship. But then again, he's got all the money he needs. Where's the incentive? I think Dale, Jr. has a total lack of respect for what his dad did to get where he was. And I think that lack of respect is what caused the implosion of Dale, Jr. and Michael's friendship.

JMHO.

At 2:10 p.m. ET, NASCAR VP of competition Robin Pemberton escorted Michael Waltrip Racing VP of competition Bobby Kennedy from the garage. Both Kennedy and David Hyder, the crew chief for the No. 55 car, have been ejected. NASCAR officials currently say that the No. 55 car has until the green flag falls for the Gatorade Duels to pass the inspection process.

Anyone know why Robby Gordon did not practice?

I think they said it was a fuel-line problem.

Nothing serious.

I think they are splitting the team between Jr, Truex and Menard.

Also.......

From Jayski
Waltrip announcement soon: hearing that NASCAR will make an announcement soon fining Michael $100,000, docking him 100 owner and driver points and suspending the crew chief indefinitely. Waltrip will be able to run in the Gatorade Duel 150's but will start from the rear of the field
