As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!
Good morning!!
We, here, will never forget those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from all who will do her harm!!
I have taken up reading Winston Churchill's most excellent work on the Second World War; I suspsect the effort of reading its breadth will consume much time over the course of many weeks and months to come. That's not the point--I am struck by a strange and dangerous parallel by what happened in the 1930s and what is transgressing today.
Churchill writes in the first volume, "The Gathering Storm", about the unease of the French with the German rearmament during the 1930s, yet its country's unwillingness to confront the danger. The excuse given by the French? The English don't want them to do anything. Such a statement was, in fact, quite true as debate after debate, vote after vote, in the English Parliament sought not the confrontation of that gathering storm, but rather to ignore the growing wind in the hopes that it would, quite simply, disappear. History, of course, records the tens of millions of lives that were expended in the storm; it didn't go away.
Today, there is a malevolence growing in the Middle-East, in the form of a radicalized Iran. Iran is already well known as the birthplace of modern terrorism, and is responsible for the holding of 53 Americans for 444 days as hostages--as a matter of State policy.
Indeed, Iran has stated on many recent occassions that Israel has no right to exist, and will, soon, be wiped off the map. Weapons of Iranian manufacture have been found within the boundaries of Iraq, in the hands of America's opponents. Iran has also called for the destruction of the United States.
The response of the American Congress? Placidity, to the effect of working to tie the President's hand. No metter what Iran does, they say, war will not be tollerated. Never mind, Iran, you can build your nuclear weaponry, your ICBMs, your army and navy needed to wipe the Jewish State, and us, off the map. The retort of Congressional supporters of such appeasement efforts? The full efforts of the United Nations, if only we would work in concert with that body, will ensure the safety of the region. Much like the French of the 1930s believed they should not handle the growing danger because the British would not appreciate it.
Indeed, the Congress is so infatuated with the idea, they went so far as to commit the treasonous act of actually undercutting the ability of the President to wage war against the Nation's enemies, while staging the hypocrasy of actually stating support for the instrumentality of that defense--but never let it be used, it might actually offend the international community.
The threat, however, continues to breed, just as it did seventy years ago. The threat sees the confusion and chaos in the entities which could actually get in the way of their designs. They see even the hypocracy of the American Jewish element, which on the one hand cries "Never again!" with respect to the Holocaust, but freely supports the Democratic Party which is bent on a course of succouring the enemies of the Jewish people.
The threat sees the European Union rent and confused, aligned in every which way on the problem except with one of focus and intent. The threat sees the United Nations as incapable and as impotent as its predecessor, the League of Nations, when confronted with a danger giving birth that could threaten the entire globe.
The entire globe? Yes. Let us not forget where Iran--"the threat"--is located. This will come as a shock to those who cannot even locate the United States on a globe, but Iran hovers over the single location of the globe where the United States gets around one-third of its oil. This is not to mention the oil that is provided as the life blood for Europe and for the far east--Japan. All America's allies--at least in peace; with the threat as it is, it is hard to say whom we can count on when the bubble goes up.
And most certainly the bubble will go up. No, Iraq is not the war, the war has yet to start. If that sounds frightening, it should. It should bear the same terror as the weapons the Iran seeks to obtain while the West sleeps until the dawn of the horror. Tens of milllions died in World War II. Millions of Britons, and millions of Frenchman, died; died even after spending years hoping the problem will simply go away if it were to be ignored.
Will it be millions of Americans that will die because we choose to sleep now?
Awake. It is not yet too late. But it may soon be.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
LET'S ROLL!!!
Good morning!
Good Morning Chair.
We will never figure out where we're going, if we first don't understand where we've been.
Good for you and your reading project.
If I only had the time to do the same.
You voice many of our concerns. I pray for our country, and its people.
The Misuses of Intelligence Michael Barone
good morning everyone!
Good morning Mr. Chariman. Thanks for starting the thread.
Listening.
Beyond Despicable!
Good Morning JT. What time is it there?
If I recall correctly he is 9 hours ahead of CST, which would put him @ about 4:25 p.m.
Does it surprise you that Liberals dont support the troops? Who knows how much dope it took to confuse them that much, but that is where they are.
I just wish that they could see past their own nose, and see that we're going to have to fight them sometime. If not my generation, then the next. They just do not understand.
Thanks.
1640. Its been a nice day too. I've had a day completely off. Its been wonderful. I think I'm going to call the wonderful girlfriend tonight. That'll be fun. :)
Glad to hear things are wonderful today.:)
Good morning... always delighted to see the new thread. Thanks Chair.
... and thanks IG for your many years of public service. Hope you have more time for other things you love, like gardening, grandchildren, and reading.
Chair... your remarks about the attitudes of people in the 1930s is spot on. Serious, conservative Bible students and scholars (I've been a serious student for more than 60 years but don't consider myself a scholar) understand that the middle east, and Israel in particular, are the flashpoint of the world. 69 of the 70 weeks (of years) contained in Daniel's prophecy concerning Israel have already come to pass. The final week (7 years) will be comprised of a powerful political figure who institutes a treaty with Israel and guarantees her peace. At the midpoint (3&1/2 years) the treaty will be broken and there will be literally hell on earth.
Now, if all of Daniel's prophecy concerning the first 69 weeks of years have already been fulfilled and are validated by history, why would we not believe that the 70th week will also be fulfilled? Almost all the signs laid out in scripture are present among us NOW. Just one portion of scripture should awaken us...
"This know, also, that in the LAST DAYS perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God, having a form of godliness, but denying the power of it; from such turn away." 2 Timothy 3:1-5.
The words "last days" depict a period of time... "without natural affection" would describe homosexuals... "incontinent" means unable to control their actions. The other phrases are self-evident and often glaringly boasted among many as fine characteristics of mature people.
From my study of the scriptures I am convinced that all those who truly trust (not simply believe the facts) in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ as their salvation from sin, will be taken out of the world (raptured) prior to the signing of that treaty with Israel and will not be present during that coming 7 year period of Daniel's 70th week. It is commonly referred to in the Bible as the "great tribulation".
As we look at the events in the world today it seems that the only thing that will prevent a nuclear holocaust in the area of the middle east will be a treaty guaranteeing Israel peace.
Note: The prime efforts on the part of the UN, Europe, and now even the US (State Dept), are focused on convincing Israel that she must give up the west bank and the Golan Heights. Only a treaty (UN?) guaranteeing her safety would convince Israel to do so. That will be the sure sign of the end of the world as we know it.
It's one reason why I've been active politically.
Yet here we are.
The Left believes the US is the enemy. The Left does not consider itself part of this country, so between that and its not valuing our wonderful country, it's inevitable for them to neglect and/or work to undermine its defense.
Ah! Have a great call then to your GF!
The parallels are frightening.
I'm of the opinion that it is to late...the ballon will go up.
Now this might not be a popular opinion....but I need to say it.
I see nothing to convince me otherwise. The MSM has won the arguement and has convinced the masses Bush is the problem.
How did we get to this point? One factor that sticks out to me is we LOST the info war. Bush and the DOD were put on the defensive early in the info war and never found its voice until it was to late.
Remember all those years we witnessed how if a charge was leveled against President Clinton is was answered within that news cycle.....not this Administration....people will make the most outrageous charge.....and what do we get from this White House.....silence.....its left up to us...or talk radio to counter the charge.p> I know war isn't about PR is its about breaking things and killing more of the other guys.....but you can not allow the political opposition and the hostile media control of the message.
