This sounds like the mother is deflecting her guilt. The amount of pain from an abscessed tooth is extraordinary. For the mom to ignore that she had to be extremely callous or extremely inattentive to the needs of her child.
Her other 3 children--and the checks she gets for them every week--should be taken away. Frankly, I think that's all she cares about anyway. The Great Society has sadly created millions of such craven beasts instead of mothers. Tragic for this nation.
