If my warped memory serves me correctly, 3 deg C for every doubling of CO₂ content implies a logarithmic function. If CO₂ is increasing at a constant rate, the temperature will increase more and more slowly as time marches on. Of course, I doubt that the rate of CO₂ increase is constant; with our sorry luck, it's probably accelerating.

Actually, I think it's closer to a linear increase right now.
