I see what you are saying...esp about Daniel getting AWAY from home at the age of 20 as opposed to 18...BUT...if he was ‘inclined’ to be a real PARTY person..he would have had WAY more opportunities (AND EXPOSURE to that life) than most kids his age. Given the life style Anna led, Daniel would have had many opportunities to try alcohol and drugs in the ‘safety’ of his own home DURING his later teenage years, when the ‘actual’ peer pressure to do those things is greatest! (I know that many people I knew who were wealthy and had a good amount of freedom in their high-school years, were ACTUALLY more serious about their education when they got to College.) Their ‘experiences’ with drugs & alcohol in highschool, in some way PREPARED them for the allures and parental freedom they had in college, and they actually fared better than some other students. I will say that this happened more often in well-to-do families than it did in middle-class families.

I’ve been curious to know what other homes are on the property of “Anna’s Bahamian compound.” I’ve never heard about there being other homes or even any other buildings, which is what constitutes a “compound.”

Where do they come up with this ridiculous overblown crayup?

For a while he went to school didn’t he? I heard that he would come home crying. Did they pull him out of school because of it? It seemed to me he was pretty sheltered and immature which is sad. I think he had alot to offer. I think he would have been more sucessful than Anna. I think he had a heart.

LOL.....I’ve always said I wanted a “compound” when I grow up. And I want it to be surrounded by a huge moat filled with ravenous barracudas. Ohhh and I want trained tigers to pounce out and keep the paparazzi at bay...lol...ahhh I can dream can’t I.

I think he will probably be *able* to leave Friday afternoon, but my prediction is that he may not *actually* leave until Saturday sometime.

Yeah, kids teased him mercilessly about his mom and he didn’t take it well. According to most reports, he made very good grades with his tutoring.

Note that I really hesitate to say he was “home-schooled” because of who his mother was.

Ok - will save the Hoot'n'hollerin' til he actually leaves with that sweet precious baby!!!! I hope he does go back to Kentucky at least for awhile and get his family around the baby.

I'm sorry Virgie has to stay in that Godforsaken place - or maybe she will leave too. To come back in June. Leave STerntoad there to bask in his non-fatherhood, non-babyness, which has been his condition all along.

Then I guess there will be the matter of the will and who is the true executor of Anna's estate and all that is related. I know all that is important - but what I will be truly caring about will be the Daniel Inquest.....once that EVER convenes.

I’ve only been to 5 funerals myself...and I’ve cried at everyone! They make me sad even when I feel better that the person is passing on to a better place...(because I’m selfish and I miss them!). I will say that I’ve only been to one funeral of a person that I did not know very well. He was my next door neighbor (and an honored veteran). I had maybe one conversation with him (my now ex-husband had spoken with him many times about plants and flowers), but I liked him, and when he died, my then-husband and I attended his funeral. Considering he was such a SWEET low key man, I was AMAZED at his funeral!! His funeral was an ‘event’! It was obvious how revered this man was in his lifetime, and I felt HONORED to be there, not to mention how HONORED I felt to know him!! As my neighbor, he had commented on my children and held my ‘baby’ (even though he wasn’t much bigger than my baby!)...This man, who I only knew as the ‘sweet old man’ that ‘looked after us as newbies on the street’, and the sweet old man that we ‘made cookies for’, this MAN was really an AMERICAN HERO...and loved by many!! Like I said, I was ‘honored’ to be invited to his funeral!!

So, if that is my life, I also don’t get some of the Hollywood types!! Because, it would at least be respectful for them to show up at their family members’ funerals....and hopefully they do...

Last night Greta more or less stated that she would be surprised if Larry returned back to the Bahamas in June.

You Kennedy wannabe! LOL, sorry, that was low. Their “Hyannis compound” was the first I ever heard of, when I was a little kid. Then later, one of my best friends in HS had a family compound and I was in awe.

It was actually their country house, on a ranch, and each of the family members had their own houses spread out on different parts of it. What struck me was that they actually called it “the compound” and it even said the Blankety deBlank Family Compound out on the group mailbox closer to the highway.

Then another friend’s Mexican in-laws had a family compound in their border hometown - and it was *really* what I think of as a compound. Looked like the American embassy in Iran - all fortified, with guards walking the perimeter and razor wire on top of the walls. They were “la familia” in every sense of the word.
