AMERICA - The Right Way!! (WEEKEND EDITION: Days 2241 and 2242) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | May 12, 2007 | All of Us

Posted on 05/12/2007 5:52:35 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!

Good morning!!

We, here, will never forget those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from all who will do her harm!!

We now know why Catie Couric is doing so badly with CBS News--the news outlet declared the public perfers "older white guys."

In Washington state, it is now law--no cell phone or text message use for drivers.

And the media likes to tout Bush's low poll numbers--the Congress, owned and operated by the Communists--is now at the same approval level.

For AMERCIA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

So Perky Katie is failing, and it' our - the public's - fault??!!

Thanks, Chairman, and good morning to you and everyone!

Pbama assils private Medicare plansPray for the President Pat Boone

I didn't have an answer... A little history lesson from the NY Sun

And in line with that....right now I'm reading a biography of Nathanael Greene, Washington's strong General-in-arms. They are at Valley Forge with their men...the politicians are carping....Cornwallis occupies Phila delphia, the capital...and most of the citizenry are dubious about the fight for liberty to say the least.

Just a little perspective....

Good morning to all.....thanks for the start Chairman.

Molly, thanks for the links.

Jemian, prayers that you get to feeling better.

Sun shining, blue skies and still lots of yard work to do. I did get the yard mowed yesterday. We need rain.

If the grass and ground dry out we will be doing yard work today. Yesterday we had a gully washer for a few minutes.

Good Morning All. It’s a beautiful day in central Texas.

GOOD A.M. CHAIR, ALL, FROM THE SUNNY MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST AND NO FIRES, YET....

Hearing called off on Jason, will be set for another day, Foster Care got their days mixed up, Dean’t surprise me at all.

Not going to do all that much today, might cut the back using the tractor, plant a few bushes, spray some grass killer on some places that needs controlling. I do have to move some dirt up front to fill in some some spots, got a couple in back that needs dirt too. Of course this all means that one I get started I won’t slow down and will end up doing more than I mentioned.

Just wanted to get my day started, got to baby sit JT for a spell while D runs somewhere, of course I was not invited to go you know.

Molly, I read your posted articles...the article by Pat Boone, “Pray for the President” was good, hope all get a chance to read it.

I am very aware of the hate that the left feels for President Bush. I am sure most on this web site are aware of the left and the media’s constant drive to put any thing negative about this President in the news. It goes on day after day. I pray for our President and our nation everyday.

“God Bless George W. Bush for what he has tried to do for his country and God forgive William J. Clinton for what he did to his country.” by silverleaf...sums up the two Presidents very nicely, I think.

Thanks silverleaf, hope you don’t mind me borrowing it.

Good Luck finding it.

It should be a matter of PRIDE for you that the Bride and her MOTHER trusted you to fetch something blue.

That is so neat. When I was a child, I’d visit Valley Forge (I grew up 2 miles from the then state park) and I’d get chills thinking of George Washington and the other men & Generals who inhabited the park years ago.

Good Morning from the left coast!

It is almost lunchtime for some of you--I got to sleep a little later this morning (2 hours), and am enjoying my first cup of coffee.

Spent the latter part of last week and last weekend up in the Bay Area: my niece got married up in Stinson Beach, which is about 1 hour north of SF (really about 20 miles, but windy, windy road along the coast). The ceremony was held on a bluff over looking the Pacific; the reception held in town. The mother of the bride(my sister), her hubby, my other sister and two daughters, and my family of four rented a house on the beach. The weekend was beautiful, none of us wanted to leave, but we had to.

Molly Pitcher- Have you read David McCullough's 1776?

I think I'll be soveling more mulch this weekend. It could be worse...could eb manure, I suppose.

Toby--there was a thread on FR a few days ago regarding brown widow spiders making their way into Louisiana.

Just got back from an auction for Booster Club at High School....they had rows and rows of old computers to sell. They sold very cheap...most of the computers had Windows 98...pretty old operating system. You just don’t know what you are getting though....some sold for fifty dollars and all other for twenty dollars.

Gulfcoast....your “cutting back and taking it easy day”....tires me out, you sure keep busy....take care and enjoy your day.

Mrs. Liberty, your wedding trip sounded very nice. Don’t wear yourself out this week-end shoveling.....I need to get to Wally World and buy some more potting soil and get in gear myself.

Question, Should I be watering the Iris (wee little plants) every day?

Toby, some of the yellow flag iris that I have are in my pond with their roots about 6-8 inches in water, BUT I also have many growing on land and I rarely water them.

Since yours are transplants, watering every other day might not be a bad idea until they get accustomed to your place.

The yellow flag iris were in the bottom of the box. There were more than the bearded iris. Their leaves are thinner. They have a bulb instead of a rhizome like the bearded.

Oh, another thing. Later in the season the yellow flag iris will produce seed pods. I would suggest that you pick the pods before they pop open IF you don’t want a huge new crop. ;-)

Still waiting for the service people. LOL! I've gotten so much done the past 2 days, as when I'm waiting for appearances like this I get fidgety, and start baking, cleaning, etc. and of course, I can't go anywhere!

HOB, yes we visited VF years ago. It's an amazing site.

Greene eventually was sent out by Washington to forage and confiscate food, animals, and so forth in the area as the troops were starving. Greene hated this assignment, but he was devoted to Washington, and saw the need of course. He tried his best to only take from the Loyalists, of which there were many.

Yes, Mrs. Liberty - and welcome back! - I read 1776, but my favorite historian is David Hackett Fischer. He doesn't get the attention that McCullough does, but he should - he's an academic who writes well, and if you haven't read his Paul Revere's Ride , DO!

Sorry to read about the postponement, Toby, but all will be well in the end.

I made carrot cake cookies from a cake mix...added some extra shredded carrots, and some chopped nuts, and they're in the freezer waiting to take to a family reunion...or something!

I was wondering if ANYONE showed up..yet.

I bought a tomato plant for a container. Ha! Two were in one small pot. I love when that happens.

Also bought some red Canna to put in containers around the pond.
