LINDSEY GRAHAM & THE PRESIDENT HAVE CROSSED THE LINE ON IMMIGRATION

Posted on 06/03/2007 9:52:33 AM PDT by ConservativeGOP

Senator Lindsey Graham is quoted as saying "We're going to tell the bigots to shut up" in referring to opponents of the immigration bill. I don't think anything could infuriate good fair minded conservatives more than the implication that opponents of the bill are labeled as bigots or racists, and that a fellow Republican is telling us to shut up for opposing a bill that thoughtful analysis has shown will cost US taxpayers untold billions, and contains numerous provisions harmful to this country. All this is happening in an environment where a recent study concluded that each U.S. family's portion of the National debt including unfunded entitlements exceeds $500,000! President Bush has made statements insulting to conservative opponents of the bill as well. An immigration bill needs to meet only one test, whether or not it is good for our country. In order to determine this a much more extensive debate regarding the fiscal, security, and cultural implications needs to take place in congress. Legal immigrants in the proper numbers I believe are very good for America. We need to address border security first and take the necessary time to work out the other aspects of an immigration bill that are sensible and will have a positive effect on the fiscal, and cultural health of our country. As with the Harriet Meyers deal and the Dubai Ports matter the President and many key Republicans are making a big mistake. They just don't get it. Without sufficient adherence to conservative principles the party will be headed for disaster. Has George Bush "jumped the shark" ?

Tell Lindsey that it’s futile to try to tell bigots to shut up. While you’re at it, tell him that we won’t shut up, either.

Welcome aboard. This immigration fiasco being foisted on us is my hot button these days. Interesting comments. I am like the GOP elephant, I will not forget. They are ticking me off big time with this amnesty.

SHAME ON LINDSEY GRAHAM! His statements prove his ignorance regarding where the conservative base it on the topic.

They just don't get it, do they? And the name calling is right out of the democRATs' playbook. Why, it is almost as if they are daring us to rise up and force a Dubai Ports withdrawal ... do you think? Have they learned their lesson from McLame-Feingold? Congress voted for it to get the PR value out of their vote, confident that GWB wouldn't sign but if he did, SCOTUS would strike it down. Whoops. Do we have the same thing going on here? "I gotta vote for this but somebody please stop me!"???

But, he’s saying all the right stuff. And he’s got both Conservative and GOP in his moniker...

I’m embarrassed that he is a brother USAF 0-6. We were taught to apply better analytical skills to complex issues than he’s demonstrated in this matter. His scatter gun insult to those who differ based on independent intellectual analysis is contrary to both a colonel’s role of listening before making a knee-jerk reaction as well as a lawyer’s understanding that every controverted issue has at least two sides with supporting rationale’. I had always thought much better of him and cannot express the depth of my personal disappointment in his conduct and remarks or his tunnel vision.

Maybe some of these Congressional traitors have been bought off/threatened by Mexican drug cartels.

Oh swell. Just swell. NOW I'm gonna get into trouble. You just had to give us his addy didn't you? LOL

Seriously, I honestly believe that I'm more angry with Graham than I am with any of the other traitors who wrote this legislation. I don't know that him calling us bigots was any more of an insult than what Boosh said. Maybe it's because Lindseeee is so gay. All I know is his voice grates on my nerves. Big time! He is one arrogant POS and I loathe that traitor. I wish I lived in South Carolina. I would work night and day to unseat him.

Bush et al want to keep wages low in America.

Whose wages?

Wall Street’s? No!
Government Bureaucrats? No!

Whose?????

The lower middle class and the Poor’s.

Who makes up a disproportionate proportion of the Poor?

Blacks.

Bush is bigoted against Black people.

Sad to say ( you are welcome to search my numerous postings at Free Republic for confirmation ) I have gone from being a reluctant supporter in 2000, a enthusiastic supporter after 9-11, and a growingly wary supporter after 2004, to a point where I just can't wait for this Administration to be gone.

A funny, but pointed graphic:

Then, not so funny:

And, even less funny:

I can support men I don't always agree with- I always have.

What I cannot support, are those who belittle, demean, and insult me, while claiming I'm to ill-informed or just plain stupid to understand their lofty grasp of things.

Enough is enough.
