LOLOL! I was just thinking -——— I bet tomorrow, Holsten’s is going to be crowded with people going in to ask the waitresses what happened!!! I know that they had to do a reshoot there after the original scenes were shot, but I wonder if people are going to ask if the actors and actresses were laughing at the way it ended.

Uh no. It’s not an ending, it’s a cop out. David Chase had to leave to go to his shrink, get more drugs and try to figure out why he hates mommy.

Lame.

Next series should fade-in with a fetus morphed with tony’s head on it trying to waltz to the Blue Danube.

"I watch a lot of TV, and -- EVERY WEEK -- I know MORE about the REAL world -- plus ancient and modern history, cooking, science, how to fix my house... or actually build something. And on and on, you name it. Sheesh, Anti TV snobs bore me. It’s not TV, it’s what you pay attention to...especially if you have cable -- IOW, just like the Internet."

AMEN!

I’ve wondered why certain characters were killed off mid-stream, who were obviously being promoted for other series, and likewise, how many loose ends were promised to the acters as possible spin off options.

For example, the whole ‘Cleaver’ and Ben Kingsley deal. How much was real and how much Memorex? If just a sidelight, their sure were a lot of follow on promotions of the ‘Cleaver’ film in later episodes, but it really looked corny.

Black Screen = Tony Dead. Seems the most plausible meaning to me, although there should have been a bang sound during the black screen. As for anyone on the West Coast, if your reading this (or any similar thread) right now, you are an idiot.

I agree. That is the worst way to end a series. One thing I noticed right before the screen blacked is that Tony Soprano looked at the screen kinda wierd. Do you think that maybe he was looking at somebody besides his daughter walking through that door at the diner? Maybe the writers are screwin’ with us and that this isn’t really the LAST episode?

What a sad day it would be if everyone thought like you. How much of the real world can anyone take in a day?

NOTHING excepting Phil getting run over

A lot of things happened - Phil's underlings backed off of their pursuit of Tony and gave him the go-ahead to kill Phil, FBI Agent Harris helped Tony pinpoint Phil for the hit, Tony had a NY Five Families boss murdered, Tony learned that he would almost certainly be indicted, Tony finally visited his Uncle Junior and realized that the man was completely senile when he shot him, AJ was dissuaded from joining the army by an M3, a part in a film production, and a promise of a club to manage, Paulie Walnuts takes over as skipper of Ralph Cifaretto's old crew, Silvio is obviously not going to come out of his coma...

A lot of stuff happened. The ending was hilarious - a riff on every possible rumored ending, with none of them coming true. Far better than the worthless Seinfeld final episode.

No, Tony is dead. He and Bobby discussed earlier in the season what the end would be like. Bobby said you probably wouldn’t even hear it coming, everything just goes black. Tony even had a flashback in the previous episode before he went to bed of that conversation on the boat at Bobby’s place. He’s dead.

I think the idea is that your are nervous for him. Could be hit at anytime (like always), could go to jail (they said an indictment was near).

The end was just the end of another day with any of number possibilities for the future. I thought the ending was super suspenseful myself but surprised there was no resolution as to what if anything happens to him. Maybe the idea is that nothing does.
