This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Yeah - store was open.
They didn’t know where he was?? Didn’t see him come in?
I’m a little sketchy on that, I didn’t talk to the owner much, yet. There were other cars in front of the store, as if other customers were there also...
I’ll have to go over and try to get details later, but you know that’s kinda hard to do with the store owner.
Thanks :)
Wow. I hope one of your dogs would take a leg off someone hiding in your barn. Come to think of it, Cyn might :)
That’s really not humorous though, it’s unnerving to have that happen close to home.
I was glad they came in and cleared the barn, I didn’t exactly want to go in there with the guy still at large. They thought my fence was pretty secure with the electric and all, but a guy could have come over the gate... that other guy did!
But yeah - it was a little surreal to have two guys on the place with guns drawn before I’d even had coffee, and their guns had these nifty laser pointers on them.
Especially if he went in empty handed at breakfast time, eh? :~)
BTDT and it is unnerving to say the least. One night we had LCSD and NHP here searching our barns and sheds with weapons drawn, dogs going crazy, every light on the place on...some guy ran from a traffic stop right behind us on HWY 50. They found him hiding in the sagebrush finally outside our fence line but the original officer had seen him head on to our property. I really did appreciate them coming back and letting us know they found him though, otherwise I’d have worried all night.
Wow, Hair, what excitement!
I’m sorry to hear about Levi - poor guy.
Have fun tonight.
I did work in the garden some too, and took some pictures.
Well, I can only get one to load...photobucket site is always messing up for me..I don't know what I do, but it seems to work different everytime I use it.
Anyway...There is a playday tonight. Jenny is for sure taking Tucker, not sure If Kristy and JP will go. But I'm going to watch.
LOL...too bad no one had a camera on you and Banjo:)
Sorry about Levi. Hope he is well soon.
The ornamental grass has gotten huge this year...it's almost too big.
This year instead of a bunch of annuals, I put in some different types of ground covers.
And finally, my Redbud Tree...it's starting to get a nice shape after all the haphazard pruning I've done the last few years.
Your garden and the yard beyond really looks beautiful. Definately “curb appeal”. Is your garden fence vinyl? It always looks so nice so I figure it’s not wood unless you are out sanding and repainting at least once a year.
My son put in a wooden picket fence at his house and it looked nice for about 6mos. Now it always is pealing somewhere or in need of new paint.
Your flowers are coming in nice!
I rigged a wire cage of sorts around the impatiens by the walkway this morning, so they won’t get stepped on by dogs any more. Now if they can just survive the abuse they’ve already suffered!
Got kittens playing around under foot.
Freaky about Levi. Tiff’s QH Kat is known to do that when she’s cinched sometimes. Just drops like a sack of potatos. Gets up afterwards just fine, usually. Sorry Levi was not so lucky. Beaker, if you really like riding bad ponies, I can send you mine. :~)
My friend's stallion's name is Heza Sizzlin Dream I knew what his barn name was (Sid) but could not remember his registered name. He was the one who had his picture in Appaloosa Journal a while back.
Amy has started riding Judy's 3 year old. He was a champion halter gelding as a yearling, never grew out of large pony size, but he is gorgeous. Amy and Alison are going to show him in halter at show tomorrow. He is not ready for the riding classes, so they will show in halter.
That kind of excitment, you can do without.
The garden looks beautiful!
