Oh man, MT. I don’t know which is worse. You laying in the road, or the fact that you got your picture taken while laying in the road. I wonder what the good samaratin and the EMTs were thinking. ;-)

He did move the ‘coons.
That picture looks awful. It makes you think you were hit by a car or thrown out of one. Glad it was not serious.
The cart is cute and the pony, but I hope you don’t have to resort to that for a long time.

LOL...I told my daughter to take it with her cell phone. It hurt so bad, I needed a laugh....that and me yelling for her to bring me a cigarette!

Thanks, me too! I am still very, very sore. Hard to bend over or go up steps. My back was not the best anyways, from a horse falling on me years ago.

At least, I am able to sit at the computer for a bit now, instead of laying in bed.

Ouch. Tubby looks pretty sedate. Is he or will he act up with the cart?

Oh my God MT! If I didn’t already know you were ok, that picture would have scared the crap out of me! You were so lucky! It could have been your head that you busted instead of your butt, and you’re incredibly lucky that it didn’t break your hip. You must have really good bones! I’m glad you’re ok. Between you and me, we don’t bounce as good as we used to do we?!

Tubby is just too cute!

Speaking of kennel cough, Kari and I have had something similar run through all our horses. It seemed to run it's course in about 2 weeks, but they had the awfullest cough and snotty nose you've ever seen. I don't know what it was, but mine have been vaccinated for every respiratory ailment known to man and they still got it. It must've just been some kind of cold, but it was bad. Goose was the only one that just couldn't shake it. He would cough so much that he would run out of breath and I thought he was either going to pass out or throw up (if he could).

I called the vet and he told me to come by and pick up some Uniprim (powdered feed-type antibiotic) to give him for 7 days, so I did, but that didn't even phase it. I finally ended up having to give him 25cc of penicillin every day for 10 days to get rid of it, and even then it started coming back a few days after I stopped the penicillin.

I mentioned all this to the guys down at the co-op and they recommended I give him some Aureomycin. It's a granulated tetracycline-based feed type antibiotic/growth hormone that's labeled cows, sheep and pigs, but they said they gave it to their horses any time they started getting a little snotty or coughing and it seemed to nip it in the bud. At that point I was willing to try anything. It wasn't that expensive either, ($17.95 for a 50# bag) compared to the Uniprim ($35 for a small container that lasts 7 days). You feed about a pound per day per horse and they seem to like it. It looks about like crushed graham crackers. I ended up having to give it to Whirl too because she started coming down with it after Goose and it kept her from getting a full-blown case. Kari and I split a bag and she used it on her bunch too and it worked on them.

I'd never heard of it before but sure was glad those guys at the co-op told me about it. It was a real life-saver so I thought I'd pass it along.

Is he or will he act up with the cart?

Tubby was broke to pull a cart before they bought her. The cart needed worked on before it could be used and the kids finally got around to it. She does very well hitched.

How is the dog doing?

Thanks for the info. You feel so sorry for them, when they cough so much.

How are you feeling now?

Feeling better and getting antsy to get out and do something. My lower back and right ankle are still sore. It was such a horrible feeling, knowing that I was going to hit that pavement. I was very lucky, I didn't get hurt worse. It could have been my head.

Thank you. I look forward to all your kittie updates. The video is great. Cats can’t help themselves. Give them a box and they have to get right into it.

I suspect it’s not just Momma and Sister eating all that food. Those other kitties are chowing down too, if not directly then through their mom’s milk.

I hope you’re right and they’re all OK. I’ll let you know if I spot the little ones and if I’m able to get them into the vets.

I don’t even want to think about it. :~\

Glad you’re feeling better. We’re going to have a heat wave here, upper 90s this weekend. I can’t ride now, not till Bay’s feet get done, they’re too long and underrun, but the new farrier can’t come till the 9th.

Buddy’s doing fine :) He seems to feel fine (he’s on major pharmacuticals so he should) and seems to have some vision which is great.
