Or maybe even if they win there will be a wrongful death suit. This reminds me of the lawyer Robert Wone murder four years ago. He was killed at the over one-million dollar home of a "friend," the lawyer Joe Price. Two other friends of Price were also present. Appears one or all of them killed Wone. The trio was tried this year with what appeared a clear-cut case of obstruction of justice and other charges (but not homicide). The jury found them not guilty. Now Wone's wife filed a lawsuit against those three.
