"She told me that some kids were saying horrible stuff about her and she didn't understand why. I told her it's OK. I told her that they obviously don't know her. And that it would be fine."

It's not OK and she's not fine. And consider this. I remember kids for whom every day of junior high was like this. It's surprising that the teen suicide rate isn't higher than it is.

It didn't help that the girl who killed herself was somewhat unstable to begin with, and was on medication. That fact was known by the adult woman who participated with her daughter to inflict emotional distress on the girl, along with an employee of MySPace.

Given the fact that there were 2 adults involved here, one of which was an employss of MySpace, it seems that this will be seen as a target rich environment by personal injury lawyers.
