SJackson - I don't keep up with people's religion (or lack of), but it is no secret that there is a contingent of you here on FR that is especially concerned with issues pertaining to Israel.

My questions is what is going on with this FR cohort? Why is it so quiet? Time was when the names on your ping list practically dominated this board. Now I don't hear much.

I am wondering if this reflects a disgruntlement with the realistic options for a GOP standard-bearer in the next elections?

Sergei, nice to meet you. You've been here, what, five months now, and somehow you know all about my "cohert" on FR.

the names on your ping list practically dominated this board, I presume that's an admission you're a computor hacker, breaking into FRs archive. I say that because, well, on posts only 7 names appear when I do a ping, and only 3 of them still post here. And your contension that those three dominate this board is absurd.

So you know a lot that no one else knows.

So what do you think?

Is there some kind of mysterious conspiracy going on here.

As to GOP standard bearers, imo all of them, save the surrender monkey Paul, are more pro Israel than GWB, so your conspiracy fails there.

Fun talking.

Sorry, forgot to mention since you don’t keep up on religion, I’d guess the majority of the people on my mideast ping list are, well, Christian. Probably the lunatic right wing Zionist variety, I admit.

I can't speak for everyone, but I've been on SJackon's ping list for a pretty long time.
I still read the posts pinged to me, and still take an interest.

However, I no longer comment as much, firstly, due to a heart condition developed about 2 years ago, causing me to "cut back" on stressful situations and conversations.
Secondly, I have pretty much stated my opinions repeatedly, ( sometimes heatedly ) and see no need to constantly repeat myself.

Besides, then I'd have to read the comments and replies to my comment, and might be tempted to correct someone's view of the world.
I might be tempted to call them a "bonehead", or worse.
I might get upset and jeopardize my health.
It's just not worth the effort.

As for the GOP's chances of winning, it really hasn't got much to do with the Israel issue, in my opinion.
Israel has survived Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, so I doubt there is much someone like Hillary or Obama could do.
