Here’s something interesting - I’m a Pentland. My ancestors come from there and we changed our name to Penland after reaching the ‘new world’. If anyone’s ever met one of us, make sure to tell them that that’s where they come from and I’m directly related to every one of them. (I wonder if I’m Roman farther back?) Who knows.
