U.S. sprinter Marion Jones, a five-time Olympic medallist, failed a drug test at the U.S. national championships in Indianapolis in June, according to sources with knowledge of the test results. Now there is talk of a possible jail time. Have mercy, for all have sinned, she has confessed to her wrong and now let it go. Revski
She’s not going to jail because she used steroids, she’s going to jail because she perjured herself.
News? Activism?
I want to know why there are federal investigations into steroid use in baseball and no such review of steroid use/abuse in law enforcement.
Why did you put your vanity in news?
Is it okay if I imagine you howling this post title with mascara running down your face? Thanks.
Why do we drug test bus drivers but not congressmen, Senators, and Presidents?
All the games have become is a cat and mouse. What they should do is just open it up to all sorts of enhancement and then let those who dare juice up and compete. That would be entertaining.
That woman shamed our country for her own selfish gain. She didn’t confess anything until she got caught. In fact, she even continued the denials after she got caught. Let’s see if she does some sincere activism after she gets out of the pokey.
Sorry, but she is famous, and publicity for prosecutors comes before justice.
Marion Jones Is Sentenced to 6 Months
"..But in October, Jones told the judge that she lied to a federal investigator in November 2003 when she denied using performance-enhancing drugs. She said she took steroids "several times before the Sydney Olympics and continued using it after."
She also admitted lying about her knowledge of the involvement of Tim Montgomery, the father of her son Monty, in a scheme to cash millions of dollars worth of stolen or forged checks. Montgomery and several others have been convicted in that scam. .."
Yep. I’m waiting for someone to post that pic. Heheh.
She still shouldn't go to jail. Just prohibit her from practicing law in Arkansas for a couple of years.
You know whats funny?
How many folks I know in Law Enforcement have asked the same questions, and the myriad of answers they have gotten back is disturbing.
Everything from the Union says it will support it in return for some other concession, to the Union does want it, but the gov't says it to expensive (yet, it still tests for other drugs).
I also know some feds who want to see it implemented, and they have basically been told to shut up.
Check fraud for millions of dollars. I want you to be my judge and jury.
Her confession shows humility I have never before witnessed. An admission of personal failure - delivered with remorse and grace.
In contrast - the posts attached to that video are disgraceful.
Wasn't her but the father of her child. It looks like all they nailed her on was perjury.
Seriously, I don't have a problem with her six-month sentence, but it is nice to point out the irony that perjury in a far more serious matter by another famous person merely resulted in a fine and him losing his law license for five years.
