Please take some time ..today.. to remember. Thank you.
Good morning.
It’s unfortunate that most relate today to getting a great deal on a mattress.
Hello. Good Memorial Day morning!
(Lonttime lurker on these threads).Thank GOD for this country and for all those who have fought, bled, and died so that I could live in freedom.
The world is not worthy of those who have so served and sacrificed and given their limbs and lives for our freedom, for our nation!
And thank you, God, for our Commander in Chief who, despite the flood of attacks on him for almost 8 years, has faithfully “commanded” our troops as they battle the latest enemy to our freedom, steadfastly and with courage, honor, and determined victory.
I remember them all today in humble thanks and gratitude.
May all who have served and who are serving, and especially may the families of all who have lost loved ones who served, remember again the great cause for which they fell.
Ronald Reagan said: Evil cannot triumph when the good are unafraid!
By God’s grace, our “good” (those who would fight for freedom) have always, always, always....been unafraid ....to lay down their lives (if it took that) to keep us free!
HALLELUJAH, THANK YOU LORD AND THANK YOU ALL WHO HAVE SO SERVED! HERE IS ONE AMERICAN WHO WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU!
We had some storms rip through here yesterday evening. Pea size hail and 60 mph winds. No real discernible damage as of this writing.
We watched the Memorial Day show on PBS. It was excellent. Very touching in so many ways. I think they will rebroadcast it tonight.
We will attend a service this morning.
This would have never happened if we didn't live in the most wonderful country there has ever been which, in turn, only exists due to Gods graces and the greatest military in human history.
Welcome.
Glad no serious damage from the storms that came through where you are.
I was in beautiful New England yesterday for a niece’s graduation - and the scenery (mountains of west Massachusetts, Southern Vermont and New Hampshire) reminded me of the days when New England was the home of some of our nation’s greatest patriotic fervor....(which, of course, still burns in the hearts of many there - but not in the institutions or governments in many of these N.East states...)
It was lovely and inspiring....want to go back.
I can only remember the part of the story after the soldier, apparently the sole survivor of a battle after taking a hill, was given the order, Soldier, under NO circumstances are you to surrender that hill". His body was later found on the downside of the hill, every grenade gone, every round spent, with his bayonet in a dead enemy fighter.
Thanks!
Our middle son graduated from high school yesterday. He just returned from Project Graduation after being up all night at school. Sounds like they had a ball.
Went right to bed.
How quickly they grow up.
There are so many great Americans like that who we will never get to thank personally. That's what makes this holiday so special.
Yes, indeed, how quickly they grow up!!! (now the screen has the foggies again.....finding tissues)
; )
Yes!
How true, N.Y.!
And for all those who loved them, may their hearts be comforted with the assurance that they are now with HIM.
Good Morning. Heavey rain and some light hail last night between 11:00 and 12.
The local news shows are showing tragic footing of the tornado damage North of us.
Happy Memorial (Decoration) Day Everyone. Let us never forget the sacrifices they made for our freedom.
GOOD MORNING! Got a job cut out for me, getting the weeds out of mu ‘yankee’ Iris’s, so green and pretty and everyone who sees them ouuu and ahhhh, course I brag about my ‘green thumb’.
I have just learned that I hould have made my ‘shack in the back’ a little bigger, more and more things I find that would look great in it but, no room. All my stuff might mean a hill of beans to most but to me, just adding more memories to the walls.
Thinking about adding some more turkeys to the ‘group’. they are so pretty struting around, showing themselves off to the ‘girls’.
Just wanted to get my day started so have a good day, and I probally got this on the wrong enrty for today but, ‘h well’.
Toby
