VANITY RANT: Obama Claims His Uncle Liberated Buchenwald
Vanity Rant ^ | 5-27-08 | vanity

Posted on 05/27/2008 7:11:24 PM PDT by OKSooner

So Obama's lie of the day was that his uncle, was it, who liberated Auschwitz and came home and hid in the attic for six months?

Then, when someone points out that Auschwitz was liberated by Soviet troops, not Americans, Obama has someone on his staff google it and then claims that he mistakenly made the reference to Auschwitz instead of Buchenwald, which was liberated by Patton's Third Army.

> Was it one of these four WWII Kansas-natives named Charles Payne...??? Can some FreeperSleuths investigate better than I???

Great start!

If Payne, Charles was Obama’s Great-Uncle and he was actually with the 89th and he did help Patton liberate Buchenwald, we all owe him and his memory a debt of gratitude and Respect.

If not, Obama has some ‘splainin to do.

I see where you got your info. However according to the actual Obama family tree they show only a Charles W. Payne born on 1924.

Nothing is adding up in his explanation or original story.

On Ancestry.com

In January 1942, Illinois Sen. Barak Obama’s 24-year-old grandfather, Stanley Dunham, said goodbye to his wife and infant and enlisted in the U.S. Army. “He signed up for duty, joined Patton’s army and marched across Europe,” said Sen. Obama of his grandfather’s service. But Obama’s American military heritage extends further back

(This still doesn’t say anything directly.)

(also if Boma doesn’t know the difference between a so called uncle and his grandfather, he is even more of an idiot)

I found the Dunham link, but the Obama handlers are pushing the alleged “Payne” link. Nothing here is adding up.

In re Liberation Forces at Ohrdruf:

After his visit, Eisenhower cabled General George C. Marshall, the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in Washington, describing his trip to Ohrdruf:

. . .the most interesting--although horrible--sight that I encountered during the trip was a visit to a German internment camp near Gotha. The things I saw beggar description. While I was touring the camp I encountered three men who had been inmates and by one ruse or another had made their escape. I interviewed them through an interpreter. The visual evidence and the verbal testimony of starvation, cruelty and bestiality were so overpowering as to leave me a bit sick. In one room, where they were piled up twenty or thirty naked men, killed by starvation, George Patton would not even enter. He said that he would get sick if he did so. I made the visit deliberately, in order to be in a position to give first-hand evidence of these things if ever, in the future, there develops a tendency to charge these allegations merely to 'propaganda.'

I found another great Database to search. This is the National Archives and Records Administration database and I am still coming up empty.

Slick does not even begin to describe this. His handlers are running the show and he is even too weak for them. My wife found on a thread on DU where she believes the Charles Payne spin originated from.

I saw that page. The problem I am having is linking any of the “explanations” to public records. There just are no links. If a relative was a member of the liberating recon group why lie and say they were at “Auschwitz and Treblinka”? If he had a family member that was at Ohrdruf then isn’t that enough reason to be proud? He has been lying for over six years about this.

So, is there any evidence he was locked away in the attic for 6 months?

Yes, that is another great site.

My great uncle actually was in Patton’s Third army and helped liberate Buchenwald.
I saw Buchenwald in 1983 while in East Germany.

Obama is a lose cannon. McCain is going to eat him up on foreign affairs.

Like you, I too have been digging. For hours. And can't find precisely the linkages which Obama's spokesmen assert they have.

They need to be much more explicit.

Let's say, on the offshot, that Uncle was say, OSS on a mission. There's NO way he'd say he was at Treblinka or Aschwitz. Official records would still show him at Location X.

We could also assume he was on special project assignment at Buchenwald.

But there were sooooo many subcamps which were liberated at Buchenwald.

Maybe Obama just wasn't so very interested in the story of an uncle who went into the attic for six months.

Maybe Obama feared if he asked or found out more, he'd wanna hide in the attic for six months -- scary monsters in the attic 'n all that.

I really don't think democrats and liberals understand the precision of military, military records, military orders, military command.

If they did, they would have thoroughly come forward with what they had. The fact that they haven't is supposed to go into some deep dark "need to know" basis about Charlie Payne?

groan...

This is strictly a post for the record. The St. Louis fire in 1973 destroyed only the "Personnel discharged" and not the enlistment records. Those can be found at the the previous "Database" link. At DU they are making a big fuss about this to cover Obowelmovements butt.

You hit the nail on the head. Despite his supporters praising him and spinning that all camps the same, since he’s been giving this speech since 2002 it just doesn’t pass the sniff test.

I too have been digging. For hours.

My wife and I have been also going at it. The spin is just another lie. Charles W. Payne was in the Navy. Based on the Chicago Suntimes family tree there was no other enlisted person by the name of Payne at this time. There was a Charles W. Payne. His records can be found here if he was from Kansas. The serial numbers can be crossed referenced here. If he enlisted elsewhere then we need to find out.

“Are BHO and Hillary! having a lying contest?”

Yes, and BO is winning while

Hillary has slipped into outright threats to assassinate him so she can step in as the “rescue” Dem candidate!

This is the most amazing exposure of Demonrat criminality - and each day has a new “unveiling”....

What about this Charles E. Payne from Augusta, Butler County, KS, which was the same place that the Payne family was listed in the 1930 census:

Payne, Charles E. Inducted 9 June 1943, Army 37531353 Registered, order # V11125 Augusta, Butler Co. (Board # 2)

I don’t know. I was following the actual family tree from the Suntimes. There was only a Charles W. Payne list there.
