Microsoft's response to people still hanging on to their copies of Office 2000 which didn't require verification on installation from MS and still works perfectly well.

And only someone with terminal government school brain
damage would see any of this as beneficial.

$70/yr is not “free”.

Existing buyers of Office get free updates until the
next major rev is released. Is that about to change?

Thanks, MSFT, for making OpenOffice more attractive
than ever.

New Microsoft Office subscription bundle to hit in mid-July

Well, "bundle" isn't bad but I think "steaming heap" would be more descriptive and give a more accurate mental picture.

I am late to this party. I don’t like the price point but I do like the idea. OpenOffice no matter what anybody says is not as good as Office, by any stretch of the imagination. However when it costs just $149 to upgrade Office in the first place with a 3-4 year release schedule 70 dollars a year doesnt cut it all. IF MS offered it at 49 a year it would be a much better idea.
THe rest of the anti-MS buffoons may continue with there diatribe.

Equipt is the product/service that was formerly codenamed “Albany”

Then that Spitzer thing happened.

Oh, great. More software I don’t own.

I like MS office, I really do. Especially Office 2003 that I have on disk, that was given to me. I have linux on a few computers that come with Open Office, or Koffice, or whathaveyou. They all work. MS is insane.
