I don't think it really matters who wins in an event like the HR Derby. It's only real purpose is to serve as an exhibition. They are all their to put on a show, and Hamilton certainly did that. Besides, 10 years from now are people going to remember that Justin Morneau won the 2008 HR Derby, or are they going to remember that Josh Hamilton nearly hit the ball through the upper deck at Yankee Stadium on several occassions?
