Power is gone for good now.
Shutting down to save my battery.
Will check in later.
Massive damage across the valley last I heard.
Wind is still blasting.
Tree 11 just went down.
Still no damage to home...that we know.

Praying for you too. I tried to open the door awhile ago to check the roof. It almost blew me down. I have a generator but can’t crank it until this is gone. I have added outside generator house to the list. That and an external lap top battery. Signing off again.

You guys have been hammered over 12 hours and the damn eye still ain’t moving, is there going to be anything left down there? Don’t know whats holding dolly back but she is stil maintaining circulation and formidable eye, hope it don’t pop back into the gulf.

And the odd thing looking at the radar is that the western and southern edges of the eyewall have looked worse than the normal 'dirty side' of the northern and eastern eyewall. The northern part of the eyewall has largely been open since landfall. But there is a thick eyewall to the south that has spent a long time over South Padre, Port Isabel and Harlingen. That gives a lot of time for a lot of rain to come down and weaken the tree roots so that shifting winds eventually take them down.

CC got all that on the dirty side but I am afraid there has been some extensive dammage down there. Alicia did the same thing in ‘83, destroyed a highway and they never did build it back, I loved to travel that road between High Island and Port Aurthur.

Oh my! We really appreciate your updates. Please know we are praying for you through this terrible time. I know how it is to live one hot meal at a time during these storms.

Appreciate your additional suggestions for the slow creeping storm preparation. The persistent winds seriously wear property (and nerves) down.

Instead of an external lap top battery, keep a 12 volt car battery on a trickle charger and keep a 500 watt AC inverter handy, you will be able to use your laptop for several hours.

Amen to that. We’re on generators here in the upper valley, they’re saying the worse is about two hours out.
Over and out for a while.

Everyone take care. Prayers up for you guys in the lower Valley.
