I had planned to make this post a couple of days ago, but got busy on something else. Sorry.
There has been some talk about the size of graphics and bandwidth. We have a few FReepers who do not come to the site because they are on dialup and the large graphic freezes their computers. Hopefully the Internet providers will get broadband to all areas soon. Prior to broadband coming to my area, I was using a satellite connection and was put on probation every time I went over their bandwidth limits. ( Just a little history)
There have been images that I refrained from posting due to their size in bytes. Following are two websites that are available for reducing your images online.
They are ......
This site works with jpeg, gif and png images up to 300,000.
I have not used this site ....
This site reduces jpegs
Below are two images .... The first is from a post on the August Thread. Thank you Sundog for these beautiful pictures.
This image used 250904 bytes.
After I used the 1st website, the same image took 93,772 bytes.
These sites give you several images from which to choose. I hope everyone will bookmark these sites and use them whenever you need to reduce pixel size.
To see the difference in pixel size, right click on the images and then look at the image properties.
I want to thank everyone for the wonderful posts, graphics, links, etc.

I use Fotki and it reduces every image to no more than 500 in width. That helps a bunch!

Amy..one must load the downsized graphic back into your computer and get a new link from tinypic or what ever one uses to get links for graphics..One cannot use the actual links from these sites.
I use these sites almost daily.
.I try to remember to go to these sites and download the lesser byte picture before filing so I won’t fail to check before I post a thread stopper..I have about 20 waiting to be downsized and filed right now..
I like that they keep the original size, just cut the byte size...I can make them smaller with HTML.
Some links the second site will not accept.I just go to tinypic and get a new link to my picture and it usually works.

Thanks for the information on photos.
I am on dialup and as much as I love your thread, it kills my computer.
Smile.

For those people on dial-up who are having a problem with graphics on a page who are using IE, they can go to Tools, select Options, then select the Advanced Options tag and in the Multimedia section uncheck Show images.
No graphics will be shown just little colored dots in a square.
