***Sure thing, don’t even need to attribute it. I was ... uhhh... “posting” this song on tons of Sarah Palin threads, adding a paragraph or 2 of commentary at the beginning and then using the song as a “signature” but the admin mod sent me an email saying it was spam. Most of the feedback I got was very positive, which is why I kept on doing it, but I don’t wanna get into any trouble. I have to confess that the song stayed in my head for 2 days. I kept walking around with a smirk on my face.

It seems to be one of the last ones I’ll be posting because the Admin Moderator just sent me a freepmail asking me to stop because they’ve received complaints. Of course, the feedback I’m receiving has been overwhelmingly positive, just like what you posted.
I wish there was a Free Republic definition of spam. I see tons of pictures posted over & over and they don’t seem to get called out as spam, and they take ~2 orders of magnitude more bandwidth than straight text. I know, I know, the pictures are linked externally so the bandwidth doesn’t “affect” FR’s servers, but tell that to my computer when it’s loading up big pictures across a wireless internet connection. It doesn’t seem to know about the external link thing so it really doesn’t matter at the point where the rubber meets the road.
Spam should not be defined by the number of complaints unless there’s a balance by the number of positive feedback items or some kind of ratio. Even when I was logging onto tons of Duncan Hunter and Fred threads, the Admin Moderators didn’t flag what I was doing as spam because each post was a unique paragraph of commentary followed by a “lengthy signature”. ;-) ... I’ll bet the mods got complaints at that time as well, but they understood the complaints were because of the CONTENT and pretty much all of their received complaints were probably from people who disagreed with the content. The same dynamic could be operating here on this song as well.
