Oh my, age has not been kind to any of them. I knew Turner had ballooned up but I didn’t realize it was that bad and Lange looks horrible. Fonda’s holding up a little better but that ain’t saying much.

Only a handful of ugly actresses ever make it big in Hollywood. Kathy Bates is one of the exceptions. The primary talent of a leading lady is her looks. When that goes, and they're past 40, they all start fighting for the Bates parts. Or get involved with social causes to make them feel like they're still someone special. Her is an example of three former beauties, whose only role left is to promote a cause or two. Unfortunately the camera is on them and the lack of feminine charm, makes folks forget about what they’re endorsing. Instead we point out how fat and ugly they've become. So I say if you're a has-been actress, stay home. No one wants to see an ugly version of a former looker, no matter what the stage.
