Obama Channel on my Dish Network!

I was shocked to find a whole channel called Obama on my Dish Network. It runs day and night. It’s a paid ad channel. He has gotten millions of dollars to spend on a blitz of ads. He claims all this new money came in from under $200 donors but doesn’t disclose them on his internet site. I was shocked at him having a whole channel dedicated to him on Dish.

It plays Obama ads on a loop, over and over… Channel 73, The Obama Channel. muuwahahahaaaaaaa….. Obama’s media buying strategy has been marked by a willingness to work the angles and to try to pick up a few votes at the margins. The decision to go to everything from extensive radio buys to odd-hour infomercials reflects the fact that the campaign media buyers spend a lot of time thinking about how much persuasion any given dollar can buy, and given a very cheap format — late night cable channels that need filler, for instance — will settle for a...

If you have Dish Network, turn to channel 73. You will find a continual running advertisement supporting Obama from 6:00 pm until 4:00 am every day from now until the election.

Lots of readers are e-mailing me about the appearance of a new channel on the Dish Network. It’s all Obama, all the time. SoulFixer TV. HopeNChange News. Reader Elizabeth writes: “My fiance and I subscribe to Dish Network. Today after work, we were flipping through the channels and noticed OBAMA on Channel 73. Yes, that was the actual name of the channel! It’s description is ‘Sen. Obama lays out his plan for a strong and prosperous America. See his plan to revitalize the economy and put the middle class first.’” Reader Nicholas wants to know: “Where’s the McCain channel?” ***

I have DirecTV and I see no such channel. Let your voice be heard. Cancel Dish Network, tell them why, then join DirecTV or cable tomorrow. Hit them where it hurts — their wallets!

Yes, it’s been posted before. :) I haven’t noticed it on Direct TV.

Amazing how much money this guy has to spend, isn’t it? He has ads on just about every website, his own channel 24/7 and nonstop ads on TV.

Hmmmmm.....

They purchased the channel. They can put anything on it they want.

If McCain were to buy a channel, he could be on it 24/7 as well.

is Dish Network so lame that they don’t allow users to remove all the crap channels from the guide so they don’t have to browse through dozens of shopping channels and other worthless nonsense? And MSNBC?

Did Castro, Hitler, Stalin, or Hussein (Sadam, not Barack) play propoganda over the airwaves in the same manner? Would love some links to that.

Well, I just had the strangest thing happen. Last night I’m reasonably certain I left the dish receiver on HBO or MAX or something like that, using the HD favorites list. When I turned it on this evening it was on 073 - the Bambi channel.

I called dish, asked for a supervisor (outsourced to India) and asked how that might happen. He was unable to explain. I said that I would give them the benefit of the doubt but that if it happened again, I would cancel my subscription immediately.

Very Orwellian.
