Debate-watching parties????

Posted on 10/14/2008 10:54:55 AM PDT by RaiderRose

Wondering if anyone in the Fort Worth area knows of any debate-watching parties...my husband's politically apathetic (voting for mccain, but not interested in talking with me about it anymore), and I wanted to join a group of like-minded individuals for moral support during the debate. Anything like that going on?

TOPICS: Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: debate; fortworth; party

Bump for later. A friend of mine is head of young Republicans at UT Arlington. She may know or have something planned.

Olmsted County (Rochester MN) DFL (Democrat Farm Labor) has an invitation for one at the downtown Rochester Marriott Ballroom, ‘light hor d’ourves provided, cash bar available’, not that you’ll go this far, but your post reminded me of the second party, November 4th, “Victory Night Party”, counting the chickens before they hatch

No, but your husband is welcome to come over to drink whiskey and smoke cigars with me as we watch in silence.

Dang! You and I are in the same boat with the men in our lives. I wish I lived closer than 100 miles from Ft. Worth, we would talk. It’s a bit far for me as it is. Sure would be a lot more fun with somebody who liked to talk politics instead of somebody who sits and grunts. LOL

I love him though, so no insulting reference intended, he just doesn’t like talking the topic.

One drink for each time McCain says "My friends"?

Looks like the debate watching party sponsored by the Young Republicans at Beef O’Bradys in Beavercreek, OH is not registered. I got an email on it yesterday - probably from the FairTax folks.

Here is my small suggestion for the Commission On Presidential Debates. For the last one, can we please, for the love of god, not insist that the audience behave like patio furniture?

Poor John W.McCain keeps telling jokes -- not great ones, but some worthy of a chuckle and nobody's allowed to laugh. So the Senator ends up looking like even more of a jackass.

Single, attractive females are welcome to come over and watch the debate at my house. I have big-screen, high-def television and will provide snacks and post-debate entertainment.
