Are you aware that hypnosis was used as a form of anasthesia as early as the Civil War? Are you aware that a patient in a state of hyposis is known (it's been measured, duplicated, & documented) to have lower and more consistent blood pressure levels, hence the use of hypnosis over the decades in many medical settings?

The subconscious mind is both powerful and vulnerable -- vulnerable especially for those who think it's all a "bunch of hooey."

I didn't read the 67-page linked PDF file, and while I may agree with you that it smacks a bit of tinfoil hats, that isn't because of the hypnosis angle. The old saying, "Cry, you'll feel better" turns out to be physiologically accurate and true because human tears shed in grief (as opposed to "onion" irritant tears) contain a particular chemical or hormone or something (I've forgotten) known to be associated with grief and depression in people. No "hooey," just reality. I am not as cavalier as you in dismissing the proven phenomenon of hypnosis.

I’m not dissing hypnosis, I’m skeptical of Obama’s use of it.

Lighten up.

Did you happen to see CSI last night?

It was all about the power of hypnosis.

I would never, EVER willingly lend my consciousness to ANYone else.
