It has been over thirty years since I listened to a college professor tell me about this technique. I have forgotten everything except that it is actually an effective technique under some circumstances.

Do any of you have anything that is more up todate?

It does only work on the weak-minded and highly suggestible. Absolutely no one can be hypnotized if they aren’t willing. Mandrake the Magician can’t make a hypnotic gesture and make someone crow like a rooster.

Performance hypnotists have been banned from military installations for over 30 years, in the fear that individuals with access to highly classified information, or nuclear assets might be given hypnotic suggestions. Medical hypnosis was a disqualification for individuals on the Personnel Reliability Program (USAF program for those with access to nuclear weapons, codes, or delivery systems)
