I have a couple of questions that I need help with before I take off for Kissimmee, Florida, tomorrow morning to see Sarah Palin, the next Vice President of the United States.
1. I have a very nice Canon digital SLR camera I'd like to take so that I can get some really good pictures. Will I be allowed to take this in to the rally site?
2. The email I received from the McCain campaign says "For security reasons, bags and signs are not allowed inside the venue". However, on TV at all the rallies, there are many people that have homemade signs that they've brought in with them. Anyone know what the real deal is here? Do they only allow posterboard signs that can be rolled up, or can I take in a heavier weight sign?
I'm going to try to get there early enough to get right up front. If God blesses me enough to let me get Sarah's autograph, I'll scan it and post it on this thread. I'll post some pics too.
Camera’s are ok. You can’t take any signs in with you. They give them out once you are in. They only look “home made”.
They say no signs but they let a lot of signs go at these McCain rallies ... don’t know if people are sneaking them in or what.
Don’t forget to go tubing!
Tubing?
Tell her I said Hi...and that I already voted for her.
I went to a McCain/Palin rally in MN a while back.. lots of signs and cameras. If don’t there real early you will need a very long lens. My 80-200 f2.8 did not cut it. (300mm effective with crop factor)
She will anwser those questions Joe lied about ACORN, Iraq and being tested in the first 6 months.
That’s nowhere close to where Sarah will be.
I do not believe that Sarah would fool the public like that. Those signs are homemade, they must be snuck in.
I’m wondering if they say “no signs” so that they can selectively keep anti-McCain signs out, while letting others in.
I better go back to bed. ;)
good call, otherwise leftist would complain their “free speech” was infringed .
I imagine for security reasons, and to lesson the risk of code pinkos bringing in their nasty signs.
We have to remember that Sarah, in spite of her middle-America background and attraction is a politician. And has her handlers. And that probably most, if not everything, is staged just the way the campaign wants it. (Which adds to her attraction if she really is “going rogue” like the “McCain staffers” say. Heck - THAT may even be staged!)
That in NO WAY takes away any of her appeal to me. Its just the way it is.
I think she obviously did...
Orlando and Kissimmee are the same TV market , Orlando and Disney.
You have to go thru metal detectors, empty your pockets. And they’ve been inspecting all purses and bags, just like going thru airport security, which has been slowing down the crowds from getting into the rallies on time. So maybe they finally said “no bags.”
Cameras are OK, but you probably won’t be able to carry a large camera bag with accessories and lenses.
And get there really, really early!
I’ve heard that only Nikon professional SLRs will be allowed.
