That’s why I said 200 yards or more depending on the shooter’s skill. I’ve seen novice shooters shoot 10-inch groups at 200 yards with open sights and Remington’s basic Core-Lokt ammo, so I feel pretty confident saying most any shooter could do well at 200 yards to start. It’s generally not the fault of the ammunition in any case.
A skilled shooter could probably purchase a $40 scope and a higher-quality box of ammunition at Walmart and shoot 1 MOA at 500 yards with a 700BDL chambered in .270 or .308. I say that because I’ve done the very same thing.
