I think Mark Levin is covering Paulson’s and Bernanke’s back-side. They are, after all, bookkeepers, and know how to cook the books. If Raines and the others knew how to do it, certainly these 2 knew where the missing numbers were and how bad they were, they just waited until October to let the country know our financial house was in DEEP VOODOO. Paulson is a registered democrat, I’ve heard..I don’t know about Bernanke. Why this administration reached across the aisle and appointed democrats for posistions of importance and kept clinton’s people in charge, I will NEVER understand.

Yee Gads, lysie, be careful. I slipped going down a gully one day, and thought Roomey was going to have a heart attack. I’m not allowed to do that anymore....at least while he’s around.

Thank you for the birthday wishes, I appreciate them very much.

Good evening everybody, this is the first I’ve been on FR all day. Not sure why the site was down earlier but I’ve been too busy since it came up to post or read anything.

IG...have you heard of this?

Cow Tax Proposal Would Threaten Agriculture Viability

From the article:

“With the economy in bad shape and the possibility of a deep recession looming, the Environmental Protection Agency is proposing to levy new taxes—on cows and pigs,” American Farm Bureau Federation Director of Regulatory Relations Rick Krause told Wyoming Farm Bureau members at their annual meeting. Krause spoke in Sheridan on Nov. 7.

“This is no laughing matter,” Krause said. “The cow tax and the pig tax are parts of a larger scheme by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to regulate greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act.”

“Under the proposal, if a state charged the “presumptive minimum rate” from the EPA, the cow tax would be $175 per dairy cow, $87.50 per head for beef cattle and a little more than $20 per pig,” Krause explained.

Apparently it's gaining traction, the industry was rumbling a lot today.

And, this new Cow/Pig tax proposal wouldn’t do a darn thing to change the greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act - i would only mean that milk, beef and pork was more expensive at the grocery counter.

Did you happen to notice that Obamanation and McCainiac met to discuss Global Warming? It was bad enough when McC was spouting off about it, now he’s going to “reach across the aisle”?

The amount proposed in these taxes would be above the normal profit, after expenses, per animal made by cattle/hog producers in a year’s time.

IG, would you agree?

Something like this would put a lot people out of business.

Let’s think then about the effect not only on grocery store prices but on every hamburger joint from McDonald’s/BurgerKing/Wendy’s corporations to Ma & Pa’s Corner Grill. And then let’s think about the JOBS, JOBS, JOBS, that those businesses provide....or may not be providing.

Thanks for the American Thinker links. As the mom of a college student, it certainly confirms what I have seen. Sigh...

I do think back to when I was “a young skull full of mush” and voted for the first time. I thought the guys in DC were all crooks and we needed an outsider - someone new. Well, I got the “change” I wanted and we all know what happened when the peanut farmer occupied the White House.

It’s like “deja vu all over again” - we are gonna need a real conservative to right the ship - is there one out there?!?!

Wasn’t that an interesting experience? I’m doing a painting of the color waves I saw when the Dr. made the incisions. Wait for the second one, you’ll see the flushing and even movement. I found it very interesting.

The fast food industry and the grocery industry better get their act together and stop this goffy stuff. Pretty soom all of will have a guage stuck to our noses or mouths to see how much green house gas we expelled. This is just too goofy for words to express.
