CE,

Someone needs to get on the telephone and call a British Consulate or the Washington DC Embassy on Monday and ask them a couple of questions:

To where in England were the vital statistics records of British subjects moved when Kenya became independent?

Under what department/office/whatever are they found and the address.

The Canal Zone sent all its vital statistics records to Washington DC, and they are under the State Department. The address is available on Google.

The address for the Kenyan vital statistics could no doubt be found on Google if the “caretaker” (the department/office/whatever) is known.

Since it was back in July and I moved on to other searches and search terms I cannot be sure of the exact words I used but I believe it was “Location of Records from Pre-Independence Kenya”. With the Lefforge problems I began going to metacrawler, so I will do that later. I am sticking to this thread like glue at the moment since I am “earless”, and have to depend upon others to provide updates.
