Anyhoo, Top 13.
Megan: OK, she’s quirky. I get that. Odd fashion sense; moves around like Joe Cocker; sporadic good singing; and whatever the heck “relevant” means. Yet the judges ripped on poor Kristen for having odd style and for her looks, yet a much much better singer without the odd Joe Cocker mannerisms. Did Kristen need sleeve-length tattoos or somethin’? Eh.
When I was a kid, you had to go to the freak show in Coney Island to see people with as many tattoos as Corkery.
Everything is tops-turvy today.
AAARRRGGGGG! I could have used that warning A LITTLE EARLIER! Damn, us west coasters lose out again, doggone it. I did get to see Tatiana slit her wrists on stage, I mean completely upstage poor Megan. She's not going to be an actress unless it's in porn films but she might be Paula's next stalker. Thank God I could come here and find out what happened! I'm stoked about Matt and Anoop, and Megan is really growing on me. She and Anoop were great tonight.
Guess your mom never had to worry about you “borrowing” her clothes when you were a kid! My mom is 5’2” and I’m 5’6”. I liked to wear her big swirly ‘50s skirts. They hit her mid calf and me mid thigh! Otherwise, I always buy mens clothes. I’m too tall for normal women’s sizes and not skinny enough for tall sizes. I think that’s one reason I liked Megan better tonight. I realized she’s taller than Ryan! That’s hot ;)

I’ll settle for being mostly right.
I think I probably had the “pencilled-in” list right going into last night (Megan, Anoop, Tatiana), but Tatiana clearly blew it. Not only did she sing the same song — again! — she was all over the place on it, and the good bits, what few there were, weren’t enough to save it. One has to wonder if her need for attention drove her to subconsciously set herself up for spectacular failure, or if she just folded under the pressure.
Jasmine, I think, sang her way in, with a surprisingly strong performance. I still don’t think she’s got what it takes to go far in the competition — like many younger competitors, she doesn’t seem to have a solid idea of who she is, which is going to make it hard for viewers to know who she is.
I’m glad Matt made it through, and doubly glad that he didn’t do so at the expense of Anoop.
Still with two going in the first week (one would assume), it’s time to look at who might be on the “deadwood” bubble.
First, the guys... I’m not sure how Michael or Kris got into the top 12 (13) in the first place, so I’ll assume they’re at risk. I think Jorge is probably one bad performance from losing his appeal, and for that matter, the audience isn’t going to be too forgiving for Anoop if he ever gets “boring”, but I think he’s got at least one week of grace period on that.
The girls are stronger on the whole in that I don’t particularly see anyone jumping out as true “deadwood”. There are fewer of them, which helps split votes, but is there really such a vast difference in style between Jasmine, Allison, and Alexis that one of them isn’t gong to step up at the expense of the other two? I think it will take a few weeks to be sure.
So, all said and done, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least to see Michael and Kris go in the first week, and Jorge the next, leaving 5 & 5, and a much better idea of who the stronger competitors are.
I’d say your assessment was spot on. I find Anoop boring already, but would agree that Sarver, Allen and Nunez are the three weakest links at this point.
If Alexis stays with the gritty blues then she will keep herself set apart from Jasmine and Allison, which I think will split votes and possible Lil and Jasmine may split votes. At this point, Megan and Alexis seem to have set themselves apart.
The thing that separates Megan though is ‘style’ of singing.

5'6" seems like the perfect height for womems clothes. They are usually sized for 5'4"-5'9".

Depending on who Jasmine decides she wants to be, she’ll then be competing for votes with Lil or Allison... she probably stands a better chance against Allison, but is that the type of singer she really wants to be?

They should have a rule for next season. You absolutely can’t singther same song twice..ever..
Does anyone doubt that Tatiana will make at least one more appearance on AI this season...at the least in the audience?
