Steal Curtain CallJust when it seemed the Ravens had solved the Steelers' vaunted D, poof! Pittsburgh snagged another Super Bowl berth.

He was right.
El Rushbo. Just another reason to love the Steelers. I hope he doesn’t catch cold since he was on the field without hat or coat.
Rush is always right. ;)
Off the top of my head Super Bowl 13. Staubach had won SB 7 and SB 12. Bradshaw had won SB 9 and SB 10.
The Terrible Towel is poised and ready to strike.

He can miss here or there.

Absolutely. Look at the talent Cowher had, and he just went thru the motions his last season as coach. Tomlin was smart enough to keep enough of Cowher’s staff for continuity...and mesh it w/his own staff choices.
Good for you. Sounds right...well anyway, it’s been a while.
If you want to talk flags that should've been thrown, how about the double hit on Ben. Not only well after he released the ball, but a hit in the middle of the back to boot. Or they could've called holding on the Ravens, Harrison (92) was being held on almost every play. The only time they called it was when he was literally tackled and thrown to the ground.
After watching the game, I know why the ref is retiring, his eyesight and judgment are going. Yes, I'm a Steelers fan, born and raised in the 'burgh. Yes it was a rough physical game. It was cold, that always ups the chance for injury. Yes the Steelers play physical. Not dirty like some teams (ahem...Raiders), but definitely not touch football either. They don't try to hurt anyone, but if you get hurt, hey, it happens.
Who has longer hair, Fitzgerald or Polamalu?
Tomlin, being a defensive co-ordinator with the Vikings prior to getting the Steeler job I worried that he might dump LeBeau. Keeping LeBeau was the best thing he did. It is obvious to me that you are as big a Steeler fan as I am.
You saw Rush on the field???? I missed that
:(
Definitely not. That's never been the Steelers' style. I appreciate that the owners don't change coaches and staff at the drop of a hat.
You only have to look at the Steelers record in the 3rd quarter to see that the coaches and rest of the staff know their jobs. They see the other team's game plan for the first half, go into the locker room, and come out with a great adjustment. That's knowing your stuff, and thinking on your feet, literally.
I have my original, retro yellow towel. Yes...Myron Cope’s first issue was so hurriedly done they were printed on yellow hand towels (not the familar Gold). Its such a classic I won’t ever take it w/me (when I am lucky enought to get tix).
LeBeau leaving (being let go) would have disenfranchised a lot of the faithful.
Its 62 degrees in Tampa right now :)
I was really disappointed in the way the Steelers played the season after their SB 40 victory. An 8 and 8 season after a Super Bowl victory is shameful.
Hey, KD has a piece on right now W/CIA director Gen. Hayden...Dan Rooney was his elementary school football coach. Pretty cool interview...Gen Hayden grew up on the North Side (near the Rooneys). And they are still in touch and friendly.
I’m pulling for the Cards!!!
And a great big Oy
They discriminate against black players being on the team and not ever having a black head coach. The Steelers are lily white.
